New subscriber here. Love your videos Buckin! Great note about checking the bolts. On thing I have found that works awesome for keeping hardware from rattling out, instead of using lock tight which can be a pain when pulling it apart often. Is putting Teflon tape on all the threads of your hardware. It works amazing I have never lost a bolt on my old CR 250, KX 500 and my little 10-10 power saw. The 500 had the problem real bad. They remove like butter, they won’t corrode and get stuck. Absolutely incredible! Give it a shot buckin and spread the word for me. Long live Mcculloch!

Bucking I am so impressed with your direct, down to earth manner. 10-10 maintenance: Absolutely agree! Got a 10-10 lightweight for $20 au (Perth. Western Australia) . Hadn't run for 10 years- "might just need a bit of a tune up" Missing so many bolts, nuts and screws. Even so- sparks & fires!!! Also agree about solid tip bars- I just think they are to chainsaws what the "T-model" Ford is to motoring. Mine came with a very nice full chisel chain. And a McCulloch branded sdc carby. Scouring the internet for parts- very rough paint suggests a really hard worked favourite even if not showered in tenderness saw. Enjoy your channel immensely. cheers., demBee

Just listen to the music of the saw. I just crave more!!!!!! The older saws are like rock songs of the past. A low grumble but loud. Newer saws remind me of a opra singer at a high note. I want rock!!!!

Sure do miss my pro 10-10 28" with a full wrap it cut so well and ran so strong. Some yahoo stole it from me along with a 201 and a 361. The other two were just expensive but the pro 10-10 was memorable. I miss it.

Buckin', I just bought a pretty 10-10, but although it has good compression, the end of the starter return spring needs to be re-bent. It is heavier than the 380 that has been my main saw lately, but I can't wait to put it into some wood. In one of your youtubes, would you talk about the difference between the basic 10-10, and the other models. Keep having fun. A few weeks ago, I was down on the other side of the airport from your place. I didn't hear any saws or any trees falling though. Bob

I like the long videoes of yours even better. 'It gives a wider perspektive how the days go along. Even raw footages. Not edited. Flawless work I dont believe excists in treebusiness. I have never been into humbolt cut before. I guess you have been taught from beginning. In scandinavia its more common with open wide facecuts. Guess thats tradition. I like that your boy starting up. Quality for you and your son. Be hard on using chaps ear and helmet. Cant loose your hearing when you are young ; ) Keep on the good work sir

My dream is to own a brand new Husky 372xp, but I was able to find a super clean 10-10 that's almost ready to rock not too long ago and a 700 that I THOUGHT was a beaten up 10-10, but turned out to be a 700 in disguise. The 10-10 is the only running chainsaw I have as of now and the 700 is on her way to become great again, just needs some love. Macs are saving the day!!

..... anything but pro here. Take care of those tools and they'll take care of you. Another good rule of thumb is to go with a size bigger than what is needed. Less wear and tear and allows you to run half throttle leaving power in reserve for when you need it. For my needs I paired up an 032 and an 064..... both over 35 yrs old. Has worked out great.... but always at the back of my mind, if I should ever lose spark .... I'm screwed. Ignition parts no longer found.... enjoy your weekend.

I can remember two days after Katrina hit getting caught at a RR crossing not once but twice watching car load after car load of Canadian lumber heading for New Orleans. In the little logging town I grew up in back in the 50's and 60's..... the mill and plywood plant I lived next to had been shut down and sold to China.... and then there's that quick response to wildfires.... what's the world coming to?

You should be using hearing protection when using those Macs, they are a loud saw. Otherwise you will be deaf as a post when you get older.
@triplemania5550
@triplemania5550 6 жыл бұрын
I second that, and not just using old Macs. Powersaws produce over 100 dB at 2 ft from your ear. If you don't use hearing protection while running one, your hearing *will* *inevitably* be damaged.
