Thank you,thank you,thank you for posting this video. I spent over four hours trying to get this done on my chainsaw then I turned to You Tube and saw your great video. Got it done the first time after I took off the chain break handle and got the bracket in the right position to lever it on the spring. Good job.

Thanks Morgan, from down under in Australia. I've got a ProMac 610 and a 650, almost identical saws. Your video made me think outside the square. I had it all wrong on my first Mac saw (650) and was looking at was looking at the 610 (recently acquired) but not wanting to pull that one apart in fear of mucking that one up too. Now I feel confident to tackle the job if it ever needs doing again. I love those old Mac saws.

Thanks, I broke off the brake and it all came apart, so I did not have an initial reference point. found the parts, and thanks to this video I felt comfortable that I reassembled it right.

Fantastic video, I've been fighting with a Pro Mac 610 for long enough that I put it under the bench and left it there. Within 30 minutes of watching this it was back together. Thanks very much!

Thank you! Just took apart a timber bear to clean and I've been trying to figure it out how the brake went back together.

Yes, thank you for the awesome video, still giving life to old McCullock Chain saws during 2020! Just got an old break assembly, and this helps a lot getting the replacement on!

If you pull the cover off, you can push the clutch chain brake out more, and it slips on much easier than what you are doing.

It’s a mcculloch 7-10 came from factory with a different side on it (without a chain break) but you can take one that has a chain break and the sides swap over perfect. Most of the chain breaks don’t have that bolt in it like this one has but they still go together the same way and I do believe on some I have found a copper spacer in between the chainbreak handle and housing.

Hey, I've got a question about chain breaks, I have a Mcculloch Timber Bear (I think it's timber bear) and the chain break moves when it's running and being used. I bought it used, the only issue it has is the chain break sliding or slipping.
@Curryman19976 жыл бұрын
If you mean the chainbreak keeps coming on while you are cutting then I know that a lot of people have that problem that’s why there are a lot of saws without chain breaks on them anymore I believe it’s cause the spring is tight which there’s no way to fix that besides run it

@@Curryman1997 yeah basically, after a lot of cleaning it's just staying on. But I'd rather deal with it than taking it off. Thanks for the reply!

My pm 700 does not have a bolt. It has a screw and a washer . It’s as if the handle is pressed on .
