I am always looking for a new ankle brace every year. I bough these two after seen this video but they did not helped me at all. Very light support. I ended up buying the brand Xforce Laceless or Quickwrap model at amazon and they offer me 5 times more lateral support than the MCdavis for half the price. I also have ASO ankle brace which are really good but they are too expensive and a bunch of lace and strap to deal with.

do you recommend this, the mcdavid 199 lightweight, or the shock doctor ultra gel? This is my second time spraining my ankle. I sprained it about three weeks ago during bball practice. I'm back on the court now but if i run excessively it gets sore afterwards and I would ice it and it would be good to go the next day. which one should i get? Thanks!

My son (His 5-6 195lbs) plays right tackle and he twisted his ankle about three days ago and yesterday I asked his coach to tape his ankle and he did a bad job so my question is if he wears this ankle brace will he be able to play this Saturday without any inconvenience......thnks

I personally believe you have to use a bigger size, for instance. My shoe size is 8 1/2 , I bought the Medium size, but it's too tight even though I'm not using the laces. I believe Large size with the laces will do a better job, since you're also wearing socks under the braces. IMHO

They are just a little different. the 199 has stays in the side but the 195 uses figure 8s which help pull in the arch.

I'm looking to be using the adizero 5 star 4.0 next season. It's a low top cleat as you know so there's not much ankle support. Would the 195 be the best bet for ankle support or should I get something else. What would you recommend? I play slot receiver so speed is everything for me.

Do these cramp up your feet? I play flag football everyday, all year round, and i have a bad left ankle. I would wear a lot of different ankle bracelets, and they'll always give me cramps. Im trying to find a perfect pair that wouldn't give me cramps.

I'm not a doctor so I can't recommend anything. I would go to a running store though. They may show you certain running shoes and ways to lace your laces that may help you. I don't think running with a brace is the best idea.
