Did I miss that part? Where does he admit that he's wrong? Seemed like at the end, he ascribed his inability to even touch his sparring partners to this being his first sparring session, and was still refusing to pursue proper instruction.

Every person has the right to explore their own creativity, whether it be in ice sculpting, underwater acrylic painting, or self-defence. In this case, the problem is when you are influencing people in the matter of life and death. There's nothing wrong with sharing your journey as long as it's clear that that's all you're doing. I think that redirecting his viewer to not do what he does but follow the advice of trained professionals was a good start.
@aaizner847
@aaizner847 Жыл бұрын
@@jasonwilliams3220 That's kind of an odd statement. The discussion isn't about whether or not the kid has the RIGHT to do it. That was never in question. What was in question, is whether it's a good idea. And it isn't. The (seemingly obvious) difference between DIY MMA and DIY painting or sculpting, is that if you fail at painting and sculpting, you get to walk away without broken bones and brain damage.

I want to add something. Another thing I love about this is that it shows you are not just about throwing shade, you could have embarrassed this kid, instead you made a positive connection, helped educate someone, and ended up giving a lesson to all of us on promoting positivity even while “keeping martial arts legit”. Dude, this is amazing. I definitely like what you did by showing this kid the respect and restraint that you did. Anyone could have just gone and hurt him, but you extended your hand and lead him to a real lesson in truth and i have tons of respect for you and also for the kid who was accepting of what you had to teach. Hi. Yeah absolutely, I enjoyed this video and there are so many people involved in martial arts that are unintentionally picking up some bad habits. Many dojo focus to much on drill training and don’t make the time to spar. I’d like to see more content like this. Also, when he was practicing receiving from a sweep, that was interesting, perhaps not for sweeps but definitely learning to recover from when you miss. I often see beginners struggling with this. They throw a punch or kick and miss and the brain seems to get stuck. Hopefully I’ve explained that ok. Cheers.

This video, to me, is clearly one of your best ones. Good job on you and Corey for showing him another side of things, and good job on Daniel for keeping a positive, open mind and following through. I really hope there will be a follow up video in a year or so 🤞

Yes please this is great. What an amazing example of calling out someone in a respectful manner. Props to him for being humble, already having a great spirit to be a great martial artist
