I work at McDonalds and thought this sounded pretty good honestly. After work I bought one, yes, I actually paid for food as an employee because of how curious I was about it. I proceeded to get home and bite into the saddest, driest, shittiest sandwich I've ever had and actually cried a single clown tear as I envisioned Ronald laughing at me for his master work in worker exploitation

Glad you called their chicken sandwiches out. They used to be nice crispy chicken breasts. It was expensive BUT delicious, and now they quite literally put chunks of chicken and cartilage together in a block, compress it and call it the new crispy chicken. It almost looks like tofu sometimes. Not only is it smaller but it is disgusting. Its obviously extremely low quality chicken.and ingridients. So you put a hot sandwich in a foil lined bag where it could steam for 20 minutes and then act disappointed when it's soggy? For me the bottom line is cost, I don't care how good it is, I'm not paying eight bucks for a chicken sandwich when I could get one at Chick-fil-A with tomato, lettuce, pickle and cheese for half that amount.

I got the deluxe version and really liked it. The chicken was extremely crispy and wasn’t nearly as thick as that monstrosity… but I completely agree that the ranch sauce just tastes like mayo. The chicken patties are fried for like 7 and a half minutes in a deep fryer and then put in baskets in a heated cabinet. They don’t sit on the bun and half the time they’re bad it’s because they put melted butter on them

That sandwich is garbage and for $7.59 that’s totally RIDICULOUS ! I gave up on McDonald’s years ago. If I want classy service and quality fast food, I go to Chick-fil-A. Their spicy crispy chicken sandwich is actually crispy and the lettuce and tomatoes are fresh. And they’re waffle. Fries are far superior to McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A sauce Can’t be beat. Plus the workers aren’t trashy and they treat you with kindness and respect. I’ll never visit a McDonald’s ever again. Fast food has a fundamental conundrum: you want to take it home to eat it, but quality of the food goes down for every minute after you get it. This is especially noticeable when you get it delivered. I wish there was a better way to package the food after it's made, these aluminum-lined pouches keep sandwiches somewhat warm, but mostly condense water on the inside and make them soggy. And all that sauce only furthers the problem.

Mcdonalds manager here 👋🏽 Judging by how you’ve described the sandwich, and how it was presented, whatever Mcdonalds you purchased this at, they don’t know how to properly run a kitchen. When the McCrispy is fresh, while not being as good as competitors, is actually a solid sandwich. The filets are kept, and put on timers, and judging by how soggy it was, the timers were ignored and the filet was kept in the tray for likely a very long time. Also the bacon looked very old and the sauce proportion was incorrect. If you ever want a good meal/chicken sandwich, come down to store 11797. I’ll personally make sure you get the best quality. :)

That chicken situation is called “woody” chicken and occurs from time to time in chickens. I would give it another try since a small portion of chicken breasts turn out like that and there’s no way to know besides when you eat it after it’s cooked.

I Love them! I've had absolutely fantastic ones and a few that were rubbery. The thing is, you've got to eat them right away. If you wait any amount of time, if you DoorDash them, if you wait until you get home eat them, or they've been sitting around for a while, they're not going to be crispy and they'll likely suck.

I had a regular chicken sandwich from McDonald's and it was inedible. Took 2 bites and chucked it. Cold, soggy chicken patty, drowning in mayo and and the nastiest lettuce and tomato. Also tried the shamrock shake and it tasted like slimy chemicals. Guess I'll just stick to fries and a Sprite when I visit McDs

Back in the day when they first came out with the MCChicken it was the best and that was in the mid 80's sense then its all crap.. I can remember back when they were killer in the 80's now they just suck.. LOL and too over priced for yuck..

I normally get a big mac meal at McD's. However, one day i decided to try something new this time and got their crispy chicken sandwich and it was just as you described, it wasnt crispy, the chicken was dry, and overall i was disappointed. Chick fil a definitely blows Mc'D's "chicken" out of the water

As far as pricing goes, everyone should at least get the app. You get rewards points, there are special app only deals (one that's been ongoing is BOGO double cheeseburger, or six piece nuggets, although sometimes it's thirty cents for the second one). Also they'll give free fries when your local team wins. Free cinnamon roll on your birthday. Also, the points add up quick for free food.

I must be honest, I gave up on McDonald's when the Big Breakfast was discontinued. This was followed in the UK by the loss of the breakfast wrap. Everything new on the main menu is just looking for a market that just isn't there.

I used to get the bacon chicken sandwich all the time back around 2010 as well. I haven’t had the normal one, but the deluxe version comes in a standard sandwich box and is somewhat close to that old sandwich. Maybe the bag is steaming the breading? It might be worth trying if you liked those ones from back in the day.

I tried both a deluxe bacon ranch McCrispy and a regular McCrispy, and the container makes a big difference. The corners of the cardboard box that the deluxe comes in allow some moisture to escape, allowing the chicken to remain crispy for longer than the bag, which traps so much moisture that even the bun gets soggy within a few minutes.

I love ranch dressing, and I have never had a satisfiable item of the ranch flavor branch from any fast food restaurant. Even Arby's screwed up their ranch burger. I now just buy a basic sandwich I know is decent, and I ask for a side of ranch. It always turns out way way better than letting them doctor it up.

@@debbiestimac5175 It was alright. About what you’d expect from a McDonald’s chicken sandwich. That can be the issue with fast food; quality can vary a lot depending on who’s putting it together and how much they care, freshness throughout the day, etc. Largely comes down to luck in my experience.

mcds has always called their fried version of the chicken sandwich "crispy" They don't realize that these days there are actual technically crispy sandwiches out there so you can't just equate crispy with fried anymore.

I just had a regular one from a drive-through 20 mins ago (no bacon), and immediately I was disappointed just taking it outta the bag, I could barely see the chicken between the buns. The sides were slightly crispy since it was fresh, but everywhere else wasn't crispy at all, not soggy, but just not crispy. I opened it up and saw 4 sad-looking pickles in random places on the patty, and nothing else. I asked for it spicy, and the sauce was probably 75% of what I could taste, and I'd have felt better with myself if I just ate a spoonful of Siracha mayo. I wouldn't say it tasted bad, it's pretty hard for fast food to taste bad IMO, but I honestly felt slighted out of 6 bucks for a sandwich that was barely bigger than my hand. And for the record, I'm still not convinced the patty was actually fully chicken.

Many restaurants mix their own ranch dressing It's basically a gallon of mayonnaise and a seasoning packet. It's very common with full service restaurants. It tastes like total garbage and the ranch dip we are accustomed to has a sour cream base instead.

They absolutely can but McDonald's focuses on making food that is preserved and lasts a long time in storage. They focus on profit not real taste. As far as taste goes they hook people with the grease salt and sugar.
