One major reason why McDonald's is so successful specifically in today's age is because they have mastered the Drive-Thru. When wagecucks drive home from work (please note the importance of *driving* culture), they are often battered from a long day of hard day of work and also a long drive home. Cooking is the last thing they want to do: And thus the Golden Arches bring comfort and convenience to solving that one great task. Moreover, the actual drive-thru system itself was engineered and mastered by McDonalds; to which every other fast food restaurant has copied thereafter. While I cannot comment on Vietnam, I think it's not a stretch to say it's difficult implant American-style "Fast Food" since it isn't synonymous with South-East Asian consumption habits.

Traveling overseas with my wife and kids for the past decades, I would make a point of it to visit a McDonald’s restaurant due to being influenced by The Economist Big Mac index. PPP via a burger. Alas, I am now a vegetarian and not too interested in fast food. Bon appetite and still, another good video, dude. Cheers.

Thatz coz its REAL food
@davedanger44149 ай бұрын
@@brownpunk1794 I think it's because it's cheaper. He mentioned he pays $1-3 to eat locally at any corner restaurant. In the US, if you stop in at any restaurant, it will easily be 3 times as much as fast food. You can go to McDonalds and spend $6-8 for a meal or you can go spend $15-30 any where else. Something needs to be done there. That's a huge cause of obesity in US. If everyone had access to $5-10 for a REAL FOOD meal, then obesity would plummet. He could spend $2 for pho where he is. Here, it's closer to $15.

The healthy factor is not much of the turn off in vietnam. Mostly because pricing, for 1 Mc meal we can get 2 phở portions or 3 cơm tấm, so we eat Mc when we feel like a rich person. And in the past, 20 years so, 1 Mc meal equal 7 phở. So that is why we don't do fastfood as much.

Great job just sticking to the meals you like vs the gimmicks. Your own Google map guide is a great idea and choosing a non-adventurous meal was very thoughtful. The food has no strong or special taste. The quality is allways the same and consistency is good, but.... In vietnam they have so much tastefull and different options american fastfood isn´t that attractiv for the locals.

Some more points that McDonald's failed ( from a Vietnamese perspective) 1. 99.9% of Asians (Mongoloid) never use cheese as ingredient to cook their food. Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian, Laotian....etc 2. McDonald's foods lack spices. 3. More expensive and less appetizing to Vietnamese taste. 4. McDonald's foods are dried foods that's why it's accompanied with soft drinks.

Mcdonald in Vietnam will always better than anywhere else in the world, if they do it Vietnamese way . Kill it eat it in the day Fresh veg pick it eat it in that day I was born in Vietnam and as I know early morning go to the market get the best choices, never by fish or prawn that not alive, Never know frozen food is until I move to UK, in the UK the meat have to be 21 day mature after kill before you can eat I find it strange, but I live here for 41 years now so frozen food is a none to me now , The price of Mcdonald in Vietnam compared to the UK still cheaper and I know in my haart Vietnamese people's make it better because the quality and the fresh ingredients that the country grew. In the UK you pay £ 8,69 for lager that hard to swallow the meat is dry , the chip is softly, I can't wait to go home to Vietnam the best food in Vietnam even Mcdonald.
