Your videos have shed light on how demanding a job it is working for McDonalds. Because of that, I today said "Thanks, you're all doing a really great job". You should have seen the youth worker, it made her so happy, she said thanks, smiled and yelled I should have a great weekend, when I was on my way out. "You too, and keep that smile, it suits you" I yelled back, it made her smile even more. Just a few words, can have a hugh inpact on another persons day, and it was clear my words made her day better. :) So thanks to you Stephen Patula for sharing. :)

I went by my McD's yesterday. It was 57 degrees outside. That first feel of fall, the crisp clean air. You can smell the fries from a block away. That hint of salt as well. In the Summer it just smells like everything's on fire. But a McD's in early fall is amazing. And then you get that aroma of cheeseburger as well. I know it's absolutely horrible for your body, but that's a smell ya just gotta take in.

Does the size of the order determine how many napkins you give out? Or are you only supposed to give out x amount? Are there times when it’s extremely busy and just throw in a large handful to save time?
@PrincessOye22 Жыл бұрын
It depends on the items in the order! At multiple stores I've worked at, it's one per 'food' item or ice cream product. So if you get a Big Mac meal, you get two napkins, one straw, and if you want want ketchup, I believe it's 3 packets for a medium fry. But yeah, when it's busy you might just grab however many feels okay.
@thedoghouse4203 Жыл бұрын
That also depends on the franchise the 1 ibwork for its napkin per item. So a big mac meal would get 3 the dipping sauces don't count tho
@ErrorPro Жыл бұрын
For the McDonald’s I worked at there’s a number on the bottom of the bag and that determines how many napkins you get no matter how many items you have. You can see the number in this video lol

We've all had a job doing something in the lines of customer service. Good service = solid, loyal, returning customers. I worked at In-N-Out for 5 years. The systems restaurants have are dialed in! I remember working at mcdonalds and having to learn the register. As a person with serious ocd, i hated the register U.I. it triggered me so much 🤣 i work at wendys now, and even though i hate their register U.I. as well, im more accustomed to it and got used to it faster than mcdonalds. What i prefer at wendys over mcdonalds is just working there is more simplistic. Mcdonalds felt more complicated to me in many ways. Wat i also prefer at wendys is that everyone gets along day one. I remember working at mcdonalds day one and managers are yelling in my face if i screw something up or am confused on what to do since i was new. I didnt feel welcomed or didnt feel like my coworkers cared about me nor tried helping me, so i immediately left. My mcdonalds experience was not so good and will never work for mcdonalds ever again. Wendys i just feel like im needed and wanted everyday. Name a job where everyone calls out your name at work and welcomes you and wants to talk to you and have a good time while working? Its rare to find places like this to work. I keep coming to work because of these people, i dont care how much i make. If the people that work with you are amazing to work with and get along, theres no better place than that you should work. I know its ok not to like your job, but id rather be in that fun work environment because thats what makes me keep going everyday, otherwise i would hate my life.
@Constantino619 Жыл бұрын
I like how at your McDonald's everything is so closed together. I worked at McDonald's for a while and the store I was at everything was spread out spaciously since it was a big store with 2 ice cream machines and 2 mccafe machines one for drive thru n other for FC. Watching many of your videos makes me miss working at McDonald's but I'm glad I'm not going through that craziness and madhouse (in a good way) cause the location I worked at was busy as it can be. If I remembered correctly the staffing for Breakfast was 12-14 for Service and 7 for Grill with Lunch 16-18 for Service and 8-9 for Grill. I enjoyed working overnights because it was a whole different world especially Friday/Saturday and having a crew of 10-12. . . By any chance does any of your stores do 'HHOT' in the drive-thru closing the 2nd lane during peak?

It's seriously impressive how everything at any McDonald's is standardized from what bags to use for what items, amount of napkins each menu item gets, number of sauces to go with each order, where to place the sticky receipt displaying order number on the bags. This isn't just placing items in bags but memorizing all the above, additionally as a supervisor you keep your eye on both drive through windows (customer wants a refund while in drive-thru? Call a supervisor) and front lobby (Sweet tea is empty? Have your designated person fill/make more) and so many more.

I think all the orders should have a sticker printout to slap on the bag to make it convenient all around. Then the counter or drive thru person can just look at the sticker on the bag to verify.
