Very much what the guy above said. These people have been here since more than a year now, and development hasn't exactly been going well, there's been major delays, and also allot of changes turn up to be for the worst and it takes us like months of feedback to get them reverted. It is absolutely understandable that the older more experienced testers are grumpy, some of us have started going on tangents about things at this point. Gotta always view it from the other side of things. Also calling us bad is uh, Interesting to say the least kekw.

@@zometthecomet Bruh did you even read what veppy said, the guy mcdoubles is calling out legitimately has given 80% of the feedback that has gotten DH to where it's at. Allot of players on CoA have shit tons of agency over the project. The classes are as they are now because of the devs and said "bitter" playerbase. Cool review and interesting looking game. One thing about the WC3 Blood Mage: they didn't use Blood magic at all. The blood elves were named after the devastation caused by Arthas. Blood mages began with Kael'thas and they were fire mages that occasionally used demonic/fel magic.

Blood mage healer actually looks interesting imo, imagine if that Transfusion skill allowed you to drain blood from an enemy to heal yourself but depending on what type of creature you use it on you get a buff (for example, 2% AP if you use it on a Beast, 5% frost damage when used on a water elemental) and when you use Transfusion to heal a friendly target you can transfer that buff on to them. There's definitely a lot of options I can see with the idea and personally I would find it a shame if they scrapped the healer portion entirely. ~Auta
@pandasempai6459 Жыл бұрын
I feel like you might have missed something incredibly important about the healer: Lifedrinker is Penance so you can use it on allies. It is your primary healing ability. Dark Liturgy's primary use is to give allies the Blood Rituals buff so your Bloodmoon blast casts act as a pseudo HoT. Now I do want to say that Transfusion is only meant to be used when you have no rage for Lifedrinker and Vampiric Bite is on CD. The core gameplay of the healer spec is to maintain Blood Ritual buff on Tank and Yourself as often as possible and any other allies that might need it like melee. Use Vampiric Btie when at low Rage, Taldaram's Torment on CD, and spam Bloodmoon blast in order to generate rage. It is also very easy to cap rage which is when you want to use Lifedrinker on enemies. Use Lifedrinker on whoever is low, use Sanguine Shield on anyone who suddenly gets damage spiked, use Fleshcraft on yourself if you do not think you need the healing CD, use Transfusion when at high stacks and don't want to/ or can't use Lifedrinker. I really like this Healer spec a lot. It feels good to play. I also like the dps version where you spam Atherann's Anguish instead of Bloodmoon Blast. I'm super excited for the lvl60 alpha when Blood get's their Vampire form. PS. KoX tank was a nightmare as it was just too many self buffs to keep track of. Also I hate to say it but the imps are really cool but feel so awkward to use.

@samueljackson8492 Жыл бұрын
I think it could be very possible for the Blood Mage to become more of a support instead of a healer. Giving a buff to the tank to increase healing taken, popping blood sores on enemies to do small aoe healing around the said enemies. Small things while still focusing on doing damage.

Great videos, as always! My criticism comes a little bit from the lore: putting vampiric themes in a talent tree that is about werewolves makes no sense (neither here nor in the fables). Lycanthropy is a curse that comes from the sphere of life, while vampirism is a curse that comes from the sphere of death! I believe they should remove all death theme from this aspect and build a different vampiric class (san'layn, darkfallen, scourge, vrykul, whatever) in the future, with possible links with chaos/fel and void/shadows. As for werewolves, focus on the sphere of life, but brutally and savagely, with arcane links in the sphere of order (curse control and empowerment) and the sphere of void/shadows (losing yourself to the dark side). I believe this will contribute to this mixture of blood dk, druid and mage that they are building.

Lore nerd here: The Sin'dorei Blood Mages were called Blood Mages because of their new demonym: Blood Elf. They never used hemomancy, though I can understand where some might get confused. Sin'dorei Blood Mages are described to once have been like regular mages, but transpired to gather powerful artifacts in order to acquire their verdant spheres (Kael'thas for example used the keys which Arthas used to unlock the different gates in his invasion of Quel'thalas). These spheres empowered their magic, and following such delved into generating demon fire to become monstrously powerful and chaotic. To put into better perspective, Sin'dorei Blood Mages were a mixture of Destruction Warlock and Fire Mage. I'd describe this version of Blood Mage (As you say in your video) as more akin to something like a San'layn and their blood magic. But in terms of Sin'dorei Blood Magi, they are not alike!

Lovin the COA Series! - Maybe for these hybrid healer & dps specs, they could make the healing of some abilities into target of target. The idea is you could dps the tanks target, and as long as your tank has threat, you could keep dps/casting on the same target. This could work for aoe and single target abilities. It could help smooth out the gameplay for some of these rotations.

Granted it was just 2 other players, but I was sub level 15 and they were both closer to 15 in the first game, and kept playing the battlegrounds after they hit level 15. They were also grouped together in every single match.

It's a shame that the healer doesn't seem to work very well, but still something new and interesting, I wouldn't even be surprised if later there weren't 3 types but 4 as it should be possible to play the given class (tank, DPS, heal and support 😆 ) . Otherwise, for the fact that they are trying to add those support classes to the game, I am very happy. I played L2 for a long time and it was normal there, and I miss it a lot in WoW. If I happen to be lucky, Wiliemdemon in the game 😂

Will mention that Blood spec's whole gearing style, as a healer, tends to be Spellpower at low levels, but at higher levels I tend to go into Stamina to let my %-based healing heal more. A good few of its heals tend to be built around a % of its max hp, and modifying that so they're huge single-target heals when you're geared into Stamina gear. Also, we currently have two major aoe talents locked behind later level talents (ie when 60 releases), which hurts the spec somewhat in its current state. Before the DF-style talent reworks we had access to Bathed in Blood and Gorge, but they were locked away with the reworks which was a decision I'm not the most fond of-- We had them previously. Blood SoA's whole identity as a healer is being a rage + HP-based caster, having a huge HP pool to make up for the fact it uses it to heal others. Fleshcraft, I typically would use on myself to give myself HP again. The spec is somewhat of a DPS/Healer hybrid, with the DPS side being a sustain-heavy caster; I usually don't touch that side of the spec, but I know it's usually been relatively decent. There's some really cool talents for the DPS-side that were locked behind the level 60 cap too, like a San'layn form that amplifies your spellpower but drains your hp over time, and a skillshot that negates healing of those it hits for a few seconds. Another thing I will mention is the healer uses Bloodmoon Blast not only for the heals on the target designated by Dark Liturgy, but also because it's one of our two primary sources of rage and gives us exsanguination stacks. You basically use it in downtime to gen rage for lifedrinker, and exsanguination for Transfusion.

Way to fix and make SoA Blood spec feel more like a blood draining and transferring healer is to ditch the bolt spell and: - Turn the beam to be usable while moving - Aoe (like unbound drain life) - When used on enemy it will heal caster and gain stacks + rage - When used on ally it will heal the target by converting your own health for the target and spend rage - Turn the dot spell in blood spec (second row left side) into 2 second cast time spell - When that dot spell is casted on the enemy it will work like Seed of Corruption by exploding and spreading to every nearby target on impact and spread the dot - That dot will last on the targets for 10 sec, do increasing dmg like Agony and increase the casters max HP every second until dot falls off (refreshing the dot starts from 0 stacks and casters HP turn back to normal) - Casting that 2 second cast time spell on ally spreads the dot up to 4 other friendly targets (lowest HP prio) - The dot on friendly targets will heal the target whenever they attack/cast/use skill (offensive and defensive) (heal amount is based on the max HP of the SoA, so keeping the dot up on enemies and friendly targets sametime is the way to heal more) - It also connects those players to the caster with blood link (like unbound drain life) making every linked player to give stack for the SoA when that players dot healing procs (when they use dmg skill that hits succesfully. Autoattacks/shots proc only every 2 seconds) - That link will also turn the beam into aoe heal when used to heal friendly target - Stacks that the beam and dot collect for SoA reduces the HP sacrifice of the beam spell (like life tap on warlock, talent reduces the HP lost per transfer) - All other active skills could be ways to generate rage faster and increase the max HP of SoA temporally - The blood transfer skill that currently turns casters health into healing for others should be turned into aoe when the blood link dot is up on targets and it should be instant to quickly burst single/aoe heal friendly targets. It should have short CD (5-10sec) or dimishing return or but dot on the caster that drains health over time (stacking) - SoA also needs preparation skill for out of combat/start of fight etc so one spell should be something like channelled spell (like evocation) that will heal the caster, gain rage (100 rage on full channel), stack up the negative dot that will do dmg over time and be able to channel while moving. So basically how the Blood healing works is to keep dot/s up on the enemy and friendly targets, manage your rage and health via different spells, use the beam to deal dmg when selfhealing is needed and healing on allies when they need it, use the channel to keep own rage up and heal yourself before encounter/between the quick pulls (beam used on enemies could be way to reduce the negative dot stacks on yourself that does dmg (caused by the channel/blood transfer) Current problem with SoA blood spec is that it feels too normal. Why everyone is afraid to make specs that focus on channeling skills? SoA Blood spec also feel like it has too many confusing skills when the core healing could be put into 2 main spells (beam and dot), 1 aoe instant heal for burst with consequences and way to prepare for the fight before being able to attack. I love the idea of balancing own health for keeping others alive but hate that it feels again like basic healer. Embrace the stamina stat and channeled spells. Change Blood spec to be about Stam/agility since lots of items already support stam/agi stats because of the leather tanks in core blizz design. Not every healer has to be good at healing out of combat (but every healer should have ways to top up the party fast and reliably out of combat). CoA already is embracing the support spec being a thing and SoA could be perfect connection between the pure healers and support specs by healing effectively and being dmg dealer same time. For that to work the skill kit should be simple but effective to do both things with as small amounts of skills as possible and focus the gameplay for balancing your own HP instead of mana. It should also be about attacking targets and passive healing with on demand healing and burst healing without needing to manually click each party member. Biggest problem with specs that do healing by dmging enemies (retail disc priest) is that in intense fights the dmg part turns into basic healing by casting single target heals on party/raid members. SoAB eliminates that by turning the healing more passive and focuses the gameplay to be about balancing your own survivability by doing dmg and managing 3 dots (1 on enemy (doing dmg + increasing the max HP of caster), 1 on friendly target (passive healing from attacking/casting and link between the target and SoA) and 1 on yourself (debuff that stacks does dmg to caster)) Soa Blood Spec strengths would be: - Massive health pool (when raid is losing dps and healers to massive dmg bursts there is always tanks and those with immunity skills standing). Good SoAB would be the last stand healer that basically survives until tanks die. - High aoe dmg and mobility while dealing dmg - High on demand small scale aoe healing and mobility while healing - Self survivability on demand with dimishing returns (not based on big CDs, instead on constant survivability but longer the situation forces the SoAB to forcefully stay alive, harder it becomes (stacking debuff that does more and more dmg overtime)) - Strong passive healing with quick reaction to boost the healing (beam on dotted targets) with sacrificing own health - Unique way of healing focusing on overtime healing on demand instead of hots/hard casting healing spells - Engaging gameplay due to HP management - That awesome feeling when your max HP is so high that you could survive even the dmg that would one shot tanks (pure dmg that goes thru mitigations (retail warlocks and ferals know what I am talking about)) I need to clean up this and post it on the CoA discord.

I think something that could work for the blood spec is a mechanic similar to the tea brewing from Mist-weaver monk. (At least how it used to work I don't know if they ever changed it post MoP) where essentially you'd build up charges of "blood bags" from using abilities and dealing damage, as well as the charges slowly building passively. And you could use those blood bags as a way to heal yourself in and out of combat. Like how monks used mana to build chi and then using chi skills built tea stacks that you then used to refill your mana.

Ohh I was looking forward to this video, I'm glad Ferocity slaps. Too bad about blood though. I was thinking, I wonder if instead of making a healing class, they try making a support class (or what ever that other role you where mentioning in a previous video was), and turn it into a spec that hands out mini-shields. Like make the first passive "Your spells grant shields equal to 10% of the damage dealt" or something. Then the passives can augment that; more shields, AoE, an active that makes it 100%, that stuff. So it can take on a more DPS role, but keep the support ideas there. Anyways, love the videos! - Artogand

If they insist on the blood mage being some form of healer they could make it support. There's the obvious tranfusion healing idea they have going, but consider the effects of blood bending in Avatar: The Last Airbender. They could control a person's body, or just paralyze them which would make for a cool stun effect just freezing the target in their animation. Further expanding on blood manipulation as a concept, blood spec could force blood to coagulate faster effectively cleansing bleed/physical effects, or maybe drawbit all toward the heart on a weakened target to blow it up as a form of execute. Maybe give them a bres that they channel on a dead party/raid member which reanimates them for the duration, makes them immune to CC and unkillable, but when the channel ends they die; maybe when they die they explode into a bloody mess, dealing a burst aoe damage and healing. Maybe they could draw blood from the corpses around themselves and their party for some kind of effect; maybe a passive healing/damage increase, or a ramping shield, or a frenzy effect for themselves increasing their rage generation in proportion to the carnage. Just as a fun ability, give blood mage the ability to pop critters. Just look at them and blast em into meaty chunks. Hope you and yours had a good get together.

Hey McD, Razier here, imo SoA heals should have a 30min/1hr buff that you can give to a target and increase healing on that person by 10% an increases their threat by 15%, an make them heal YOU the caster, for 10% the dmg they do. SoA healer shouldn't based on rage an instead have more life costing healing. These 2 changes would create great synergy and small buffs to the healing skills would also go a long way. Now im just a player an you have more pull in terms of supplying feedback, so maybe take this an suggest it to the devs. Idk why but the concept of a health cost healer just seems so on theme an unique to me, and these simple changes would bring it to life.

Honestly just making the blood mage archetype along the lines of a buff focused support that can either self target or cast on a tank seems more reasonable with it either being your empowering your self such that you could bully in a 1v1 or shrug off a mob through preferably aoe that funnels your damage to health towards a target you mark. So your dps is either funneled into your health, your allies, or you can throw it on a boss mob or enemy player to double down on damage by denying yourself health. I imagine it'd be fun to play that razors edge playstyle in pvp.
@TimelineTheSchizoid Жыл бұрын
In fact just thought of it call it blood pack that way you can make it where you can allow for big heals without unbalancing the whole dps to health scenario. Then you can customize it around a mage, a focused healer, and buffing caster that trys to be a multiplier for dps by adding effects that provide utility all around for damage healing and dmg reduction

I actually tried to build something like this in ESO and it always felt off cause the healing spells for the class never looked right and it cost too much in efficiency for healing I think. Seeing as I'm more invested in this healing fantasy, I have 2 ideas that could add to the fantasy of this as a healer and hopefully make it better. using rage to heal is a bad idea and should be dumped. Instead, use your health to heal others and focus the class into a huge HP pool like Vlad in League. You could then utilise rage to dump HP back into yourself to fill the tank back up. The other option is to up ur rage gain by making a passive buff you can give the tank to add to their tankeeness called Coagulation or something to heal over time, ooooooooooor ups their damage reduction and just straight up every time the tank takes or deals damage you gain rage from that. heck even give the class some passive that keeps ur rage up or something like water shield from shaman that keeps ur rage up for double the time as long as the shield is up. I personally want the "use ur health to heal them" for a blood healer and would be my go to healing class. too bad I'm a horde player and hate night elves and humans the most from Alliance xD -Saraphen

Yeh I agree the blood mage style healing is really interesting I hope it just gets pushed through its difficult spots. Your suggestions sound good especially being able to mark the tank to help generate rage and separating healing to health cost and rage to damage/self healing. I think as well your self damaging spells should also give you rage, might already be the case but I didn't notice it.

I enjoy watching you Video, Although I do not play wow, I did not know I would find some of the builds you discovered to be useful in PSO2 NGS, for example your advice for fixating on resource extraction to use more abilities makes the previous not so fun builds play entirely different.

Son of arugal looks fun as ever, although I wish the worgen didn’t have weapons, but I can work around that with the one punch man mog, you should do venomancer next

I wonder if for the healer spec they could make it that you get crazy boosted levels of health per 5 seconds, but in return make it a curse that your armour is reduced by 75% making it that you are not invulnerable in pvp. Or otherwise make it that each time you heal it increases you hp regen by up to x percent. Otherwise remake it to be more of a damage to heal spec with some form of direct heal still.

Elder scrolls online has a blood healing spec in the night blade class and they handle by having a big heal that does damage to you as a chill dot instead of up front

feels to me that the first talent of the blood mage is a sustain ability that affects your self heals aswell. I'll try this one for sure after my current pyromancer

A dps blood mage would be cool but this would be the first time a healer spec has a badass fantasy so I'm fine with it
