@@dHuntersReviews I grew up on Captain Marvel back when he was big in the 70's and I've been seeing a couple of figure channel mistaking the rope around his cape as a necklace. Once you've got it on the correct way, it should look a lot better. I'm going to get 2 of these figures.

Great Review, have this guy on the way!!! I'd honestly given up hope we'd ever get a classic, vintage, Kingdom Come esc Shazam, simply based on the insane amount/variety we've gotten so far. Not sure what inspired Todd to make this version of Shazam but I'm stoked he did, and here's hoping he sees how easy it'd be to ditch the cape, make a new head sculpt, and release a fantastic Black Adam! However, even though I'm in the minority, the Page Punchers Black Adam is still my fav so far. Although I did remove the pauldrons, paint the lower part of his belt black, and gave him a longer torso peg...

Looking at various bits of reference material, I think that the necklace shoulf be threaded over the hood/collar, so that it forms a sort of clasp to attach the cape. I agree that they could have made a better job of that, but overall, this looks like a great figure!

I just got my Shazam and I was not expecting him to be so much taller than the rest of my McFarlane figs. I’ve now come to the realization that rebirth Martian manhunter is short asf, also I ordered my Mr terrific off of Amazon not knowing it had a chase variant with the mask that I’m more familiar with and I ended up getting the chase by sheer luck

They cheaped out on the sculpt for this Shazam. However, we might not have gotten it without all the reuse. I think the other (non-movie) Shazam is better.

I was opening mine while watching ur review trying to figure out what to do with the medallion and hood, I usually like the bottom cape wire, but on the small cape it’s wierd to pose “the cape” swapped and put a two finger pointing hand on him so he has that lightning animation look, I love this guy, found him, platinum Simon baaz, platnium pp deathstroke which is really awesome if u add good weapons onto him, I also while finding these they had the silver age joker and earth 2 robin I got two of if anyone wants any figures I have more on my Mercari 777hellviewlane and I have tons of stuff to put up , I only am posting this on dhunter vod cuz he seems to have the opinion of me for mostly all the figures and I don’t spam my store but wanto let yal know , I get mcfarlane , marvel legends, sw black series, to Lego sets and more

this sadly is the best looking shazam figure he has done, but my issue is he looks like he has no eyes, which i get some retar... like but in figure form no need for that. and is that bolt painted on? how will he go with superman when they aren't constructed in the same manner same with cloth cape , yea this is why imports are much better, sure these are a 4th of the price but u need to rebuy the whole collection of characters over and over to get the ones that match visually. , edit i see they did a grandpa superman still thats an easy pass you would need to buy a whole other one for a younger normal superman look and thats if the flesh tones match.

Seems more accurate than the usual. Was wondering why the boots have a small fold but noticed the same on GEO-Force. The red at the wrist might have been better in gold or yellow for the entire braclet stack. Overall it is pretty good because of the choice of buck. Got to have those wrinkles in a classic costume. Hope Powergirl is not too reused.

In some promo shots, they placed the necklace around his collar. I think it helps to stay in place and also, to give the idea that it is an accessory. McFarlane seems to be trying to justify the price on these more recent figures, which I get it, they make more molds than most other companies. I don't understand all the hate they get. They do a lot of weird stuff, there's no doubt about that.

I’m guessing the cape was cut from the same patterns/machines used for the Page Punchers Damien Wayne. That would explain both the hood and why it doesn’t actually fit over his head. I’m not sure if the figures are getting better or if I’m just becoming more forgiving, but McFarlane has been on a roll lately in terms of getting me to open my wallet.

Cloth capes with bendy wires are a welcome addition to the action figures. The plastic capes were too heavy and restricted the articulation and impeded the posability too much.

Awesome figure. Captain Marvel is longtime favorite character of mine. He was actually my favorite superhero when I was a kid. I don't know why they included his cape fastener as a separate "necklace" type piece instead of just putting in on the figure tucked under the collar how it's supposed to be. In the comics its purpose is to hold his cape on around his neck. You kind of have to squeeze the collar together and thread it through the rope loop and then fold the collar back down. Once you have in on correctly just push the medallion over to the left (like it is in the comics) and it looks great, and it stays in place pretty well. Again, why they didn't just do it that way at the factory is beyond me.

That Shazam figure is very accurate to it's Page Puncher comics.. Therefore if I get it, I'll sell it at a very high price for sure.. Although the hood cannot be worn by his head.

The missing part of the Shazam story is... DC comics sued Fawcett Comics out of business because DC claimed Captain Marvel infringed on their Superman character. That was not true, but DC was able to outspend Fawcett Comics. DC evdntually bought the bankrupted Fawcett Comics which more than seems underhanded. However, by the time DC owned Shazam Marvel Comics had been able to create a Captain Marvel character of their own and DC could no longer use the Cpatain Marvel name on the title of a comic book.
