Happy 25th Anniversary of Superman the Animated Series in 1996 to 2021!

I much prefer the action comics #1000 Superman figure when compared to this one. Sure, this Superman figure does have the essence of the classic animated series to an extent. However, it does have some issues. The hair appears to be longer than it actually is when viewed from the front. The gap that's at the neck is quite jarring. The head sculpt looks pretty good. However, the face is a bit on the yellow side. The cape has a weird shape to it for some reason. The legs are loose, especially the right one. The ratcheted elbow joints look odd. Having said that, this is a decent enough figure that unfortunately has some issues to go along with it. Otherwise, thanks again Spot. I really appreciate it!

The DC Collectibles version looks nothing like the show...this does

This thing doesn't look like the Superman TAS, the JLA cartoon or the JLA Unlimited. It's a weird amalgam-alternate of all. It's why I don't like these figures. They look NOTHING like Bruce Timm's style, which has more rounded shapes and more human proportions than this.

@@Avenging_Archer It's a bit absurd to suggest this figure looks "nothing" like his animation style.

I’m not a Superman guy so ill be passing on this one. Like I said in the other video, I really like the Animated Batman figure and glad I picked it up. I’m really hoping we get a Batman Beyond in this style in the future.

I do quite like the figure even though it is very problematic. But I am a huge fan of Superman TAS so I may just pick him up. And you were right, the cape does look like babybel. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Great review.

Can we please get a Livewire figure! She was created in Superman: The Animated Series. We should definitely get a figure of her. She's definitely a Superman villain that I feel like needs more love.

to get the best look you need to have the butterfly joint (technically it's a long ball peg into the torso with a floating cup around it) forward so the front side doesn't show the segmented piece. for the hip, definitely try some floor polish (something called Rejuvenate from walmart works) to tighten the hip joint. i used something called kiki jointed tighten liquid from ebay; both figure can stand on its own and does not fall over. quality wise, these IMHO are better than ML. joints are nice and tight with no extra play in between detents. painted parts or exposed plastic all have a decent matted finish which makes it look better compare to most ML as well.

They can’t seem to get the legs right either. Yes, Timm legs are skinny but they flare back out at the top of the calves. These figures don’t do that. It’s just straight skinny leg all the way

Amazed you didn't mention the cheek damage, or missing triangle on the chest symbol. The over-detailed belt is more missable, but still there.

I bought that same Superman figure yesterday At GameStop and it was the last one, and I also bought that same Batman figure at GameStop also and it was the last one too.

Mine just came in the mail today, I’m actually liking the figure a lot more than I thought I would. Initially I kinda thrown off by the very scrawny legs in comparison to the chunky upper body but now it doesn’t bother me. If anything, this Superman actually reminds me more of JUSTICE LEAGUE(Unlimited) Animated Series Superman than Superman Animated Series, and I’m good with that

Legs ARE SUPPOSED TO BE that skinny...what don’t you all get about that? Mine stands easily without the stand

Does look animated and is a fine figure but I really do prefer the DC Multiverse Superman comic look. That gap in the neck is nasty. But as you show you can prevent it atleast. I do like his accessory that is included. I feel I'm going to like the Green Lantern.

Pompadour isn’t tall enough. Leaning more toward Justice league. They never can seem to get it right

Hi, I wonder why he has red pants, in the animation he had black ones.
@hunteremison524 Жыл бұрын
They weren’t black. It was meant to convey red in shadow. That’s why it had a red stripe going down it

I agree about the skin tone being off on the head. I feel like Batman’s was off too.

On the trading card, why are supes trunks black?? Odd wonder if anyone else noticed that
@mistermastermind5282 жыл бұрын
It's not really black. In the show, it's a dark red that shines through. So it's sometimes shown as black with a red highlight.

I need it it looks amazing I don't care if the joints are a bit loose I have a hack to tighten plastic joints and how many times the fist hands are his flight hands look he uses the fists more than the other ones. Anyway love it want it need it but I don't think I will be able to get my hands on it ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️ if anyone can tell me where I can get one in Ireland or the uk please tell me I will sub you. Also do tell the price. Thank you

This is exactly the style action figure I avoid. I prefer the ones that are more realistically designed. Of the hundreds of figures I have, mostly Superman, none are based on animation; none have cloth capes, they make the figure look cheap; and any Superman figure whose cape doesn't have the yellow 'S' emblem, otherwise it's just a red sheet, I have to think twice about.

i bought both this and the animated Batman. overall quality is way better than ML.

It’s a great figure...much better “quality “ than the trash Hasblow regurgitates monthly
@ShinyShinyIsAlwaysBeingSerious4 жыл бұрын
I guess it could be the one you have is better than Review Spot's sample then, the one in this video is terrible, the head is a different colour to the neck, the hair is shiny black and looks like it's falling apart at the back, there's a massive hole in his neck when you turn his head, the socket join on the left arm doesn't work, it can barely stand up even with a provided stand, I mean I'd be very disappointed if I got this one.
@FrankW10294 жыл бұрын
Shiny Shiny if you put it under harsh light like the review station for most reviewer, the skin tone is different. Under normal light it is less noticeable unless you look for it. Mine actually had the rotating cup on the left shoulder glued when factory glued the cape, but I was able to heat it up and fix it. Not a big issue to me since I’ve been building model kits for a long time and sometimes do some diy painting and simple customization on cheap figures. As for turning the neck to have that gap, when you take photos from the other side it really doesn’t show and you probably don’t need to turn the head that much for normal posing anyway. It’s something to note, but not something that totally detract from the figure itself.
