Even as an Arsenal fan, I have to agree with what most of what you have said. City came in with a new Multi Club Network, and their sustainability from about 2016 onwards has allowed massive growth. It's not to say that no one is jealous, but you're still the pinnacle that all other clubs in the EPL want to reach.

This comment captures exactly how I try to explain to people how I became a City fan and, whether they say it or not, they look at me like “Yeah, and I bet you also support the Kansas City Chiefs” 😆 I never disliked football (soccer here) but was never “mad 4 it.” At some point I saw NG discussing City on tv/internet & was curious to watch one of their games. This led to watching other PL games and, eventually, I was hooked - The atmosphere, the intensity, the quality of the players. I felt like I’d been watching recreation league football over here 😁 It has some of the same qualities as the (Southeastern) American college football experience.

To the partisan fans on the losing side in the Prem, it's a comfort blanket, As for the 115, constantly aimed at City, Etihad looks like it's going public on the stock market, all accounts are then freely available to anyone, no way would they do this if their accounts were falsified. As a city fan ppl come at me with the same things the 115 hasn't been proven , the " city are boring" its always boring when u can't get the ball off someone or watching ur rival win everything. Living in Ireland I can't always go to games but I always watch us when we play wether its the big games or playing away at Luton and watching us win trophies have been some of the best moments of my life . Any owner of a club should want the club to be successful on and off the pitch and ours have done that , but for other fans they are jealous of it and would take what we have any day of the week . Our history is better than the likes of spurs or Newcastle and even PSG . Hopefully we deal with the 115 charges situation soon . Even if we are guilty i can't see them being able to prove it and its gonna be hard for them to remove the aguero moment from history and just pretend the last 16 years didn't happen . Or 20 years by the time they are able to prove smt . MCFC for life 💙

This was a great video! I didn’t start watching the Premier League until Late October 2023. I wasn’t a sports guy until I started going to watch my local team Nashville SC and became hooked on this sport! I watched a handful of games on Peacock, but after watching a City game (and Erling Haaland be a monster goal-scorer!), I chose them as my team. I’ve had people say I just like success or that I’m “plastic” either jokingly or otherwise, and while that’s affected my mental health somewhat, my dad put it perfectly: football (or soccer here in the states lol) is meant to bring you joy when you watch it, no matter what anybody else says. Since then, I’ve joined my local MCFC club to watch games and always have a blast! I kick myself a lot for missing out on the treble win last year and even when City won the Premier League for the first time on May 13th, 2012 (my birthday of all days!), but I’m proud to be here. I caught City winning the Club World Cup, and I’ll be here for whatever the future holds, like a potential double treble! CTID🩵

My daughter got me the City Tour as a Christmas present in 2021. I thought it was a bit strange as I got my first season ticket in the 1973/74 season. On the tour I found out that after winning the ECWC in 1970 City became the 15th club to win a European trophy. When the dippers won their first they were the 20th different club to win one. Also who holds the record attendance at their home ground not Wembley? Good video Luke. Also the regeneration in the area around the ground due to the takeover. Just hope the flats on GML that have been knocked down are replaced by affordable housing and not gentrified for the likes of Sebastian and Tarquin. We'd turn into Arsenal then!

City have always been in my eyes, a 'proper' club, a big club, with a predominantly local fan base. We're getting the same sort of crap here at my club Wrexham nowadays...allbeit at a much smaller scale, but we've also always had a decent fanbase and a decent history for _our_ level (esp in the cup competitions, the FA Cup, League Cup, European CWC etc...) I've followed Wxm for 50yrs and been at games with crowds of a couple of thousand (at best), to almost 30k! The fact is when you're at your lowest ebb and struggling week in week out, the crowds - regardless of which club you are - will dwindle. As soon as there's hope - and light at the end of the tunnel, those 'latent' fans & their families, will return. Because of the documentary, we're getting fans from here there and everywhere nowadays (which to us is totally surreal...) The fact that City are getting slagged-off by others is because, like with us, your competitors/rivals are so jealous that Lady Luck hasn't shone on _their_ club instead.

No fans, Manchester City have held the home crowd record in England since 1923, they broke their own record in 1934. Their biggest crowds per decade are as follows. 1920s 80,000 1930s 84,569....the rags were getting gates as low as 3,000. 1950s 76,129 1960s 66,000 1970s 63,500 No club bettered those gates in those decades despite the capacity at Maine Road continually cut since the war. There is a lot of bollocks talked about our club particularly the fanbase. By the way they also hold the record for a game played between two 2nd div clubs of 73,668.

I think that when football fans talk about 'history' too often what they mean is 'number of trophies'. In contradiction of this, I would cite being in the third tier of English football in 1998/99 as a rich part of our history. This was the period that we can look back on with pride as we demonstrated our real passion and loyalty for the club, turning out in numbers, home and away, never seen before at that level. Most clubs would see their fan-base wither away in such circumstances. Fans of other, so called 'big' clubs will never experience that. We have already overtaken most other clubs in terms of trophies won but being at Wembley with 45,000 other Blues for a Division 2 play-off final means as much to me as being at the Etihad for the Agueroooo moment.
