Mcgaheysville, VA LP Severe Thunderstorm 7.15.24

This was a lower-end severe thunderstorm that we tracked from Shower to Dissipation, going severe about 45 minutes after formation in Bridgewater, VA. Storms began to fire around 3:30pm on July 15, 2024, across the valley and we tracked this one because it - right off the bat - had an interesting structure on radar, garnering inflow on its southeast side right off the bat. After struggling for the first part of its life, it released a downburst of wind just west of Mcgaheysville, VA - giving it severe status. Once it moved up the eastern Valley's terrain, I noticed brief rotation in its base and a miniscule funnel on the right side of the base - something I believe happens in this area more than is currently thought. The goal will continue to be to capture every single one. These brief terrain spin ups are responsible for many of the tornadoes that have happened in this areas recorded history.
