My Parents had that same style deck and railings on their log home. That style is very expensive and time consuming to maintain. You need to put waterproofing on it at least twice a year and make sure to replace or repairing rotting patches ASAP. Don't get me wrong its beautiful when they are all finished but the upkeep is a nightmare.

Not for nothing Sullivan County in NY has alot of amazing abandon hotels. It was the hotel capital at one point. Also in Roscoe NY a castle deserted castle you should check them out
You should go to the city Hall of these locations and find out the history or reason for the property being abandoned,

New subscriber and bell ringer 😊 we built our cabin after we got married and been here 35 years. The logs retain heat so once the house gets warm it's warm. We use 2 pellet stoves and almost done with the radiant floor heat, which I highly recommend! ( because warm toes are nice) Our roof is rated R-30 and we have the loft and high ceilings. Our cat walks the lofts hand rail to give me mini strokes! 😂 We had a tin roof but quickly replaced it because when it rained fairly hard you had to shout and couldn't hear the TV. Lesson learned. Never use rough sawn lumber for trim inside your cabin. Big lesson learned. Like any place they have pros and cons one being the cob webs and never ending supply of dust. Everyday. And some places you need a 40 ft ladder to get to it. It's awesome with the deer that stand in the yard by the barn because they know that's where the corn is. They will wait too. Raccoon, squirrels occasionally a bear and a pack of coyotes running in the past your howling and barking, basically sounding like the hounds from hell. I'm so sorry about the lengthy comment but a log cabin in the woods is great! And getting snowed in...........YES! 😃😃🥰🥰 I just had to let y'all know Thanks for listening

That's the nicest looking "abandoned" house I've ever seen. All windows intact, power on?!? all lights working. Is it REALLY abandoned or just uninhabited. That house is in better shape than the house I live in, just that the outside is kinda falling apart.
@lionreb4 жыл бұрын
It is easier to overlook the wrong use of the word "abandoned" when it is by people who are foreign and do not know the language, as in another channel that I watch. But in this case it is deliberate deflection, cover up, creation of a false impression for personal gain.

I have friends who don't live in Idaho who show all thier friends my cabin (home) and tell them how relaxing it is here. Yes I even have the elk heads and bear skins hangining on the wall. I have seen log cabins that were abandoned, we're about a hundred years old in great shape ....takes quite a lot to destroy a log cabin!

Love log cabin videos but make me a bit sad. They were very much the dream house of many in my generation (late 80s to early 90s). Log homes don’t tend to have over the top bathrooms and closets. The logs somewhat limit the interior layout. I would have loved this back in 1990 when we got married. Been a sub for few years. ❤️

I don't see anything "obviously outdated" here, it's simply the motif that was chosen by the owners. And the "almost" gun rack is indeed a gun rack. Overall, nice place that needs a little attention.

The brass faucets, etc. Were popular back in the 80' & early 90's. That would account for the rotting decks
@enigma5224 жыл бұрын
80's decor, definitely outdated.

It screams late 80s/early 90s. My concern is how much wood damage there is. The floors looked pretty bad.
