What an awesome assembly for a cast, no special effects not even any color LOL just an excellent assortment that made everybody fall in love what the crew of the PT 73, who wouldn't want to be on McHale's boat lol Tim Conway as Ensign Parker and knocked it out of the park, good clean family fun and the show will live forever and ever because they were having so much fun when they were filming it, and you can tell godspeed Tim Conway and the crew of the PT 73, you will always be endeared to all Americans as our brave Frontline fighting small boat Navy crew

Great TV show and the later movie. One of the things I really like is how Joe Flynn plays 'CAPT. Binghamton' along with the Screenwriting for his lines, as he offers a foil for 'McHale' and the others, phrases like 'cutthroats', and 'pirates' and the slapstick comedy between him and Tim Conway (Ensign Parker) when doors open in his face/body, objects get knocked around, or spilt, etc. He always seems to get drenched in water or blown up, his glasses knocked askew and so on.

The scene beginning at 22:29 was absolutely a classic and Ensign Parker (Tim Conway) just made it perfect.

I believe that Lester Gruber (Carl Ballintine), was at his very best, in this episode. Lester, always kept everything stirred up, and undeniably, was the "organizer", for much of the mayhem, that ensues, in these episodes!.........

Lt. Carpenter was also a PT skipper. Wonder where his xo hung out. Ens. Parker was always with McHale.

I think we see him in one or two of these early episodes, but in later seasons the idea of Carpie having his own boat got left in drydock.

Well, it was cheaper than shipping them back and because they were mostly plywood, they would've gone to rot in a few years without intensive maintenance. But, I understand your concern. If you want to see a couple of real WWII PT boats, some are on display at Falls River, MA with USS Massas... and some other musuem ships.

It's a crime that the elite have been sending the poor off to die for thousands of years.
