Speech by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat at the ATxSummit Plenary opening on 30 May 2024
DPM Heng made three key announcements in his speech.
First, the launch of Singapore’s National Quantum Strategy which seeks to enhance scientific excellence in quantum research; boost engineering capabilities; attract and develop talent for a quantum-ready workforce; and build a vibrant quantum industry.
Second, the unveiling of the Green Data Centre Roadmap, which sets out pathways for the sustainable development of data centres in Singapore, to meet the growing demand for AI and computing services.
Third, the release of Singapore’s finalised Model AI Governance Framework, which complements Singapore’s efforts to contribute to global conversations on AI governance.
