When it comes to collecting watches, it's not all about the looks. It's about the craftsmanship, the inner mechanics, the gearing, historical significance ect. Watches are much more than bracelets

You need the clutch and throttle at the same time. To set off, you lift the clutch to the biting point, add gas, and then lift the clutch fully. To change gear, you press the clutch and lift the throttle at the same time, and vice versa once you've changed gear. It is possible in a sleeping bag.

I don't own a smartphone which needs to be charged and kept somewhere which won't get lost or stolen from. I do however wear a simple wrist-watch, which doesn't need its battery changed for about 2 years and is fastened to my wrist to look-at whenever I need to.

Fisker was American... Epic fail 😂😂

Well Henrik Fisker was a Dane, who used to design cars for BWM and Aston Martin, so there is plenty of European DNA in the Fisker Karma. It's just a pity that they decided to sell the car under the cost that it took to produce them. That was a fast track to bankruptcy right there.
@streaky81
@streaky81 Жыл бұрын
Heh, Fisker is a US car brand - a very famous one at that.. Also if you don't think electric motors, power management systems and batteries don't need cooling and thus an air intake on the front - Tesla just do the Apple thing of pretending heat isn't a problem when it absolutely is, which is what happens when you let Americans try to do engineering :)

@@streaky81 Yes, but if the designer is a Dane (from Europe) there is plenty of European DNA in the car. BTW Fisker Automotive, the company that launched the Karma, no longer exists as they went bankrupt. The Karma IP, tooling components and factory were bought by a Chinese company called the Wanxiang Group. They restarted production of the Karma as Karma Automotive, but under the name Revero. Henrik Fisker started a new company under the name Fisker Inc and is producing a new range of electric vehicles.

Petrol engines are cooled mainly by water, which needs a reservoir to ensure the water does not boil. This reservoir is called a radiator, which is located behing the grill, so receives cooling from the air passing through it. On an electric only vehicle, the air passing through the grill is mainly used to cool the battery, as hot batteries lose their charge faster than cool batteries.
@Kyzerii
@Kyzerii Жыл бұрын
electric cars still have grilles because even if they dont need air for combustion they still need air for many things like AC, Heating, Cooling the batteries and electric motors since they get very hot and can cause a fire if the batteries arent cooled.
@Max_Flashheart

Batteries can require cooling (and heating in cold conditions). There are some electric cars that can open or close the grill intakes depending on what is needed.

I agree watches are now more jewelry than a time piece. But even as far back as when watches were invented people always wanted a nice watch. Even today I have a nice watch. It wasn't super expensive, but it wasn't cheap. About £1000. And I really like it and I like wearing it. It's really heavy and robust and it just feels good to wear it. I bought my 14 year old son a cheaper version of it. Mine is a limited edition automatic and there's only 500 of them ever made. His is the battery powered standerd model, but still cost £500. He also loves it. In fact he likes it so much that he doesn't wear it too much incase he scratches or damages it. lol. A nice watch is a very desirable item.

Sorry for taking up the entire comment section here but yeah, we use our left foot for the clutch but that isn't the problem, how the fuck would you reach the gear stick in a sleeping bag is the problem. I've learned to do both left and right on brake in an automatic and double footing brake and gas on a manual but that's mainly because I was a bodyguard for a while and that required some training.

I learnt this in school, 1st or 2nd year seniors, so around 11 to 13 years old. We put some blood on a glass slide, put another slide on top of it. Pressed them together before putting it all under a microscope and hey presto, yellow blood!

Watches are about quality, the pure pleasure of it and the features they might come with. Personally, using my phone for the time and not as a phone is no different from having a carriage clock buckled to my waist. I don't want a time piece that bugs me with virtual chatter and lures me to tinternet random stupid things because I'm 'bored' instead of immersing myself in the real world. :)

If you donate blood it's purple-ish in the bag. Maybe because only a tiny bit of oxygen gets in, I'm not sure. As I understand it, it depends on where the blood is in the body, and whether it's loaded with oxygen from your lungs or not.

Your veins carry de oxygenated blood aka black blood as I'd call it so your veins are darker in colour. Your arteries carry fully oxygenated blood and blend in with your muscle tissue hence you can't really see them. If you've ever bled like I sometimes do and the blood is very dark? It's got a lack of oxygen hence the very dark red almost purple colour to it. Fully oxygen rich blood honestly looks like tomato soup if you've ever had that come outta you. Also love your reactions Connor and look forward to the next 😊

I have my grandads manual watch, it’s not worth a lot, in fact more money has been spent on servicing it than it was ever worth, the little tool to wind it up has been remade a few times after being lost, and the watch itself pretty crap to be honest, if you keep it wound up it runs about 20 minutes fast over 2 weeks (ish, I’m not an expert 🤣) I never met my grandad, he died before I was born. But I know a lot about him, wearing his watch every day feels like keeping a tiny portion of him in the world. It’s not a bracelet, I don’t like jewellery, the only other thing I wear is a thin necklace with my Akitas ashes in it. I realised half way through typing that this wasn’t really even relevant to what he was saying 🤣

Never mind about not knowing the names of certain cars from Italy or other places in Europe, you should be more concerned about a lot of your country folk not knowing the names of - or the exact whereabouts - of the actual countries themselves, in Europe and the rest of the World for that matter.

@stevepage5813
@stevepage5813 Жыл бұрын
@@koopalibrary A lot of them , yes. When I reply to comments on You Tube and put where I live in England, I have to state - pun intented - that Halifax for me is in West Yorkshire, Northern England. This is because there are Halifax's in North Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. The actual capital of Nova Scotia, Canada, is Halifax and there is also a Halifax in Australia. When I look at a map of North America to see where the Halifax's are, some of the states do stick in my memory. Some of our British television quiz shows feature questions about states etc... in The Good OLD? US of A. One You Tube clip that I watched recently showed that a lot of adults in US couldn't point out their own country on a map of the World. Some pointed at Africa thinking it was US. When they were asked to point at a country in the World other than their own, a lot of them pointed at a continent as in Africa, or Europe instead of an individual country. One ten year old US kid, did indeed identify every country correctly, even the obscure not very well known ones, as in Papua New Guinea. If a sport in US is called "World Series" when only North American teams are involved, I can see where the problems begin.

The car needs a grill to cool the petrol driven generator that delivers the power to the electrical motors. Just like diesel trains (they use the same idea and yes, it's more effective to drive electric engines with a diesel generator than it is to directly drive it with a diesel engine). The power efficiency of an electric motor is that much higher.
