Eminem is one of the most inconsistent rappers ever. I liked Slim Shady LP despite the monotonous drug references and shit like that. It was a good album and something I loved when I was 14 years old. The next year I had to buy The Marshall Mathers LP on day one along with everyone else in high school. I remember taking the after school bus to the nearest mall with 10 other classmates and buying it from The Wall (remember that store?) in the mall and then calling my mom to come pick me up. LOL Good times like that make me sad about how rap & hip-hop have degraded into mediocrity.

I wouldn't even define it as em is "maturing" or is now more mature. The special, and honestly one of the most attractive and original aspects of the art form , is the honestly and the lack of censorship. What's the point of music if u can't honestly express yourself or how u perceive the world. Slim shady is a alter ego. A character if u will which represents numerous ideas and understanding of human existence. It's a character who represents the human condition to the extreme. Slim shady is everything that humans represent at a extreme unrealistic level. All the different ideologies, philosophies, dogmas, and understandings that humans utilizes and create in life is all seen in the extreme. U can basically add anything u can think of in regards to how u understand or how u incisions humans in general. and that's what slim shady represents. Slim shady, the character is just a metaphor. Created and conceived like any other character in a book or film. It's all a part of ems artistry

Shady surpassed Pac, Big, Rakeem, NWA, all of em'. He has brought millions of people together and taught them to stand up for themselves.

Man I remember when Eminem blew I was 7 about to turn 8 years old. He's what really got me into rap. The Slim Shady LP was the first ever album I owned... Watching all that TRL shit brought back so many memories. I was a fan since day 1
