For me this was the best era of Eminem. The era when he still did interviews he was still hungry to promote. Was just blowing up so everything he rapped about was what was happening that moment in music the world news so on. Also this is the era before he started wearing those silly big clothes. Here he’s still preppy almost an average white suburb kill or at least how he looked. Even his music was still white in a way meaning names he used in songs drug ballad my name is I never meant to give you mushrooms. All songs most college kids and party kids related to. It wasn’t street rap it was suburb rap. Before wearing durags and gloves bandanas big clothing. Before 50 cent was signed and Eminem started to act more tough and black. When the music scene was still boy bands and poppy songs. Where he can attack those bands and it was fun. Before the beef and diss tracks. He was white enough to be played on rock stations and associate with bands like limp bizkit korn. Then he got to big and started to be a little more quite tamed almost like he wanted people to stop thinking he was goofy and started acting more tough. This was slim shady not the 2002 8 mile Eminem show encore Eminem. Nothing was better than the 1999 2000 Eminem. First two albums chronic 2001 redman feature biggie feature worked on the jayz renegade feature. This is in my opinion the best of his career the best era in hip hop. When jay z Nelly Eminem Dmx were running the hip hop scene. It worked for Eminem cause he was a good rapper yet he also was mixed into that pop world talking about pop culture always on records made him part of that scene. His completion wasn’t rappers then it was boy bands. The silly ADD having slim shady. After Eminem Show for me is when it stopped being slim and it was more Eminem. That’s around when I stopped listening as much. Also 1999 2000 2001 for me was the best era in my life in high school so the music was the soundtrack to my life then. Listening back to that era and albums reminds me of some of the best times I had.

Yeah. And the reason "woke" is a term no-one takes seriously nowadays is because a whole lot of self-righteous assholes took that term and used it for their own bullshit. @@silvergust
@LuckyBugger2 ай бұрын
On a separate note, I would also say that's where most prejudice comes from. Narcissists have their own conniving self-righteous plans, and a tool they can use to get away with them, is to hide behind an already existing group. Whether it be feminists, gays, the police department, musicians, a certain religion or culture of people, a victim of some sort, etc. narcissists will weasel their way in and use that group as a shield 🛡️/or scapegoat in order to make achieving their evil goal easier. Then of course, that whole group ends up looking bad because this POS looks like they're a part of it. It's basically stolen valour. Narcissist stolen valour is the reason for most prejudice. There! I said it!. That had nothing to do with the Eminem thing I just had to rant for a second.

This was back in the day where the phrase bad publicity = good publicity was king. Now people get cancelled by haters, just because those haters think that they have to be entertained by said person they’re cancelling. Fuck I hate the mentality people have over this past decade. And in most cases, cancelations win, back then it was suck it up buttercup.
@silvergust Жыл бұрын
The concept of "cancel culture" has been around for decades though. Not the term, or the modern way it's done and used, but the concept of attempting to end someone's career and inciting backlash and boycotting has been around for ages. It may seem new due to the internet age but similar situations have happened since historical antiquity. Even to Em himself in his earlier career, with protests and censoring/being black-balled by the industry to an extent.
@Leafsfan91 Жыл бұрын
@@silvergust I think because the people who don’t care are the people just shutting up and buying the stuff. We need unapologetic and controversial hiphop again, kdot almost did it when gkmc and tpab came out cause critics hated it especially the news they even tried a lawsuit but only a handfull of real rappers backed him up and the pop rappers just kept pushing their music.
