One point that may have been missed is just how low profile the Rupes is as compared to every other machine. You are directly above the paint and so to me it makes it easier to keep the pad flat. That said, the 24v forced rotation may also be in my future.

I'm interested in the flex rotary and think Rupes missed out on doing a rotary polisher
@dustin37002 ай бұрын
I have both machines the flex is the 18v version but most jobs I usually go with forced rotation unless the panels are pretty flat. I use the flex on speed 5 always and it won't ruin pads and rupes is limited to 3-3.5 or you'll destroy pads which limits it's versatility on an kind of concave shape. Rules is quieter and easier to handle which is nice for roofs where you need to one hand polish to reach.

Ok, I accept your point about these getting cross shopped. But, please do a video with the 15 mm flex and the rupes 15. Mark the backing plate for us and demo a curved panel. That would be ideal to help make a decision on the new flex. Just my opinion, flex doing only 8 mm throw on their gear drive tool is a mistake. Sure a short throw is a nice to have but these are some major cash. I can’t see a 8mm on my list when even mirkas 3 inch is a 12mm throw.

I would like to see this too, good vid still!

Random question, does it throw you off when you go from the Rupes to the Flex? Because Rupes spins One Direction Flex spends the other direction not sure if that still true but I have a Miele that I use most of the time which is gear driven I’m looking at possibly getting a gear driven Flex battery operated.

I would still like to see both 15mm tools compared

Flex is life time this year untill 2025 on all tools so the 5 year warranty on the box means nothing if you register also flex website says this

The 2 issues with the rupes is the safety switch is awkward for me to depress and the speeds have dead spots especially where 3.5 would be does nothing so it goes from 3 to 4

What is the highest OPM of the new Flex gear driven compared to the 3401?
@jonnathanmarcellus44562 ай бұрын
Flex does offer a 4 port fast charger that’s charges all 4 at the same time.

18v vs 24v is that even a apples to apples comparison?
@McKees372 ай бұрын
Yes, they are within the same price range and are cross-shopped.

I bought both. Both are more than enough to get the job done at the highest level. I ended up keeping the Flex, and giving the Rupes to my brother as an early Xmas present. I honestly didn’t think the Rupes did anything marginally better than the Flex. Then you consider how Flex makes the cordless wet dry vac for detailing mobility and it’s not very close. Not even mentioning Flex’s tower light and other power tools.

Great feedback, thank you. I mentioned that specifically in the video as well, that it's not apples to apples comparison, and provided an explanation of why I compared these two.

I'm a Rupes guy but this Flex cordless is far superior. I have no doubt even their 15mm random orbital will be superior to Rupes. These Rupes machines lack power and torque and cannot be used for paint correction. Waxing and finishing only maybe but even then it's just so frustrating that they stall constantly. RUpes Mark 3/V are great.

Rupes machines don't lack power 😂 I have both rupes and flex and I like them for different reasons I have both lhr15 and hlr15 both amazing and I love my pxe80 and the versatility 🔥

@@blkfxbb327 Actually, regardless of if you are happy with your cordless Rupes or not, facts are facts. 350w and 5000 rpm is the lowest power/rpm in the entire industry. (literally you can't find another machine lower in terms of specs) So it is true that the ibrid Rupes lacks power. It is very smooth though. If you are not a professional, I get that the ibrid machine is enough for you. Get a Rupes Mark V and be amazed by the night and day difference. (not even close) I have reviews of these machines on my channel.

@@aghahari I don't care for specs, I'm a full time detailer and do a few paint corrections weekly my rupes machines have never not preformed well not sure what you're trying to prove but you can definitely paint correct with them the right pad, compound and techniques is all you need, I could do a full paint correction with a harbor freight machine as well lmao
