Elon is right. As a German we were taught to be "ashamed" of what we were, starting in School. I was even told that the blood of all the Jews was on my hands, even though I born 30 years later after the War ended! It was never ending guilt tripping and degradation. Everyone was allowed to be proud of their Country except for the Germans. The moment you expressed any pride in Germany, you were automatically labelled a Nazi. They could march into the promised land, murder, and plunder and it was okay by god? A strange concept. How many left Egypt from a start of only two people a few short generations prior? Would this have produced a significant proportion of Israelites for the Egyptians to worry about? Wouldn't it have made more sense to have been created in heaven, in the first place? Why wasn't I created an angel. Whenever there is controversy over facts involving the Bible and science, science always wins. Science make its claims on evidence. God created the heavens and the Earth then said, "Let there be light." The sun, the light, despite the claims of the Bible was created long before the Earth. This is just one incongruency between the Bible and science. Evolution is another. The religious have a hard time trying to explain this concept because of the problem "Who was the first Adam and Eve?" I would bet that even the Pope believes that evolution of Homo sapiens is a fact. You were likely born into the "correct" religion". What do you think were the odds of that happening when it's more likely that you could have ended up in another part of the world in another religious culture? Then, you'd have had no chance of reaching the promised land. I just forgot about religion, except for the fact that I remind myself every so often of my reasons for dropping it. Most atheists have thought more about their religion than most religious people. Even religions evolve. Fewer witches are burned at the stake these days! Notice that they were all women. Did women have a say in this honourable discrimination? I'm sure they would have allowed the men to participate if they had asked! Why are we religious, generally following that of our parents? I think its because we want to please our parents. Why are there so many interpretations of Christianity, Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, and on and on? In other words, why did god make the interpretation of the Bible so difficult where all Christians should have been of one sect? What's god's purpose in this? Maybe you think that people belonging to other sects are not going to the promised land. Lucky you! Are you familiar with the evolution of, or history of, the Bible? It didn't start out the way it ended up in this day and age. For instance, are you familiar with the Book of Thomas where Jesus turned his friends into sheep and goats to show his magical powers? This is one book of a few others that were ultimately not included in the Bible proper, just a few hundred years ago. Ask your pastor, who will be quite familiar and find out why such books, originally included, were omitted. Pastors tend not to spread the word for obvious reasons. I learned about the Book of Thomas at age 13 when in elementary school, but didn't learn anything further until a few years ago. It's amazing how Christianity can keep a secret like this for so many years. Sixty-five years. Is your family aware and how old are they? Too many questions, not enough answers.

Years ago while visiting the area, I was introduced to the German Club in Morwell in Victoria, Australia. . I went there twice.. The culture was wonderful and so much fun. I like the Germans. They've been probably the best to me in all my travels and stays. I learned the language because of it. I found it weird some people bring up stuff from a long time ago when you assess the situation in the room and question who's acting the coolest. I mean maybe things will tip another way later, but as it stands for the past probably 30 years, everyone probably could have largely dropped a lot of negative attitudes a long time ago.

I didn’t think it was a nazi salute as I watched, but I work in social work, and those whom I tell that I didn’t think it was the Nazi wave shoot me looks of pure anger. “Anyone that believes that is crazy,” I was told, eyeballs shooting daggers at me.
