They may forgive but they don't forget. My rescue dog would just shutdown in fear for reasons I couldn't figure out, that was still happening two years after I got her. I even tried sign commands rather than verbal in case of bad associations. I just wish I could have met the people who starved her and treated her badly, the poor dog really never recovered from it. She just died a couple of months ago and I miss her like crazy

Carol, it’s very true. I got my baby from the shelter and I think they cannot forget what happened to them in the past. I had him for three years now and sometimes when my words are a little louder he cowered on the corner and very scared. If I will be given 15 minutes with the first person who did this I will make sure that person will not see the light of day. Humans are worst than animals. But he knows how much I loved him. He will never experienced that with me as long as I live. They never forget

@@deniselester2226 Don´t be so hard on yourself. Dogs are more susceptible to be around humans. Cats are way more independent. If they´re not used to be around humans and if they´re in good health, fed and have shelter from the elements, they usually don´t see a reason to seek human interactions and they will most likely prefer to be outdoors.

Eldad is indeed the most caring, patient rescuer I've seen. And he's the most creative when it comes to difficult rescues (and so patient - will spend hours coaxing a scared or hurt dog into his arms - and every dog seems to know they're safe with him).

Carol Jewell Sometimes a dog will escape their home or yard. When they’re scared of humans they won’t accept help and end up dirty and skinny. I found a dog that I was positive was neglected because of his low weight, he was filthy, and his nails were so long they were curling under. I turned him over to a rescue who was able to locate his family. He was well taken care of at home but for some reason he jumped out of the car in a neighborhood he wasn’t familiar with. He had been missing for 4 months. Now I wait before passing judgement.

Even A Well Placed Phone Call to A Local Shelter, is Sooo Much Better, Than Doing Nothing At All. MANY Animals Lose Their Precious Lives, Because NO ONE Ever Lifted Their Finger To Call For Help. I Always Keep Food, Fresh Water and A First Aid Kit in My Car, for Situations Like This. Actually, Because of This, I am Helping Several Animals, on a Daily Basis. I Enjoy Caring For These Animals and Absolutely Pawsitively Look Forward to Seeing Each and Every Furbaby Each Day.
