As drum instructor for east st. John I respect McKinley because they are one of the only baton rouge drumlines that are diverse and creative if it wouldn't have been for esj and mck the crowd would have been sleep s/o to mr. Keith and mr. Smith I learn from watching yall preciate it #lli #esj #mck

Finally!!!! A drumline using Max Pro Heads. Bass Drums sounding really good Glad they are using Max Pro Heads. Only thing is that i wish they could tighten the Snares at the bottom. If you Sightly tighten the top head and really tighten the bottom head and have the snares it self in tune with 6 strans or more less all strans in place then it will be a true snare sound. The Basses are set at a good sound. and Tenors are matching so they are ok. But Glad to see McKinley finally using there heads. Don't get me wrong Old Malard Heads are good and all. But i just hate it when some schools use the Malard heads and they don't tune them right and it just sounds suckish. But when some schools tune the Malard heads right then you have a winning line. Same goes fro Max heads each drum must match sound quality for the best snare sound.

I think St. John won this one. But McKinley did really good. Although i got to question St. John on that last cadence when they threw in a little of JSU's Cadence in there.

yea, we sampled it from laws 1, we basically grew up on jsu. We're like the black sheep drumline in the boot

Gerrin Dav I wouldnt call yall the black sheep because other lines have grown up on JSU too. Edna Karr is basically JSU style....Xavier University Drumline who battled yall before Morpheus during Mardi Gras is JSU style....Berhman is JSU style....I can name 20 more lines

Jeaux-E-Streetz yea but as far as the majority, we don't carry any trait of Southern in our style. Karr is definitely j-state they one of my favs, but by having quints, we complete the look. And Xavier is a college. And between 504 and 985 we pretty much are. Mck even has j-state influence, thats why they stand out, but they still have Southern roots

McKinley got sum nice sticking and they snares tuned nice but the snares sound sloppy as a section

we could've played more technical cadences, but we tried to match the length of Mck's cadences so it doesn't be a quick and dull battle
