MCK

I am playing what I learned from a sheet of music, the real name of this piece is not "MCK" but I'm just calling it that because that's what a lot of the public will recognize it as. I am posting this video so a friend can learn it so we can play it together.

it's a " Remo Legato" this drum is designed for corps style, you know, Kevlar type heads, this is a high tension drum, but i just took off every other lug , and put a silver dot professional drum head on there and painted it and have rapped it in chrome to look like the drum that my favorite college has, Southern University. the drum brand new i think runs for 350.00 but i found one on ebay, and just made what i wanted, yep thats about it.

Yea, the music is found in " the rudimental cook book ". Even cones with a cd to listen the some of the beats in the book. And thanks for all the comments. Any questions , please ask.

This can be found in the book called, "rudimental cook book" i think it is called funky fat in the book, the way I'm playing it in the video is a lil different then what it is written in the book. Southern University gets a lot of there material from this book and just adds a lil so it wont be copying. anyways, I hope that helped you.

Yea I still got the drum. I make these for whoever. I got 5 different snares. One of which looks like Jackson state.

I got my drum off of eBay n just wrapped it with chrome vynal n painted the hardware white. But the drum is a. Remo legato so you can order one from a music store it keep a look out on eBay like I did. And I didn't use Kevlar cause I made the drum to duplicate southern university. The music comes from. Rudimential cook book. I think it's called funky fat. It's different in the book but I played like southern. The section leader showed me so I am playing just like southern. Anymore questions

I wrapped this legato with the chrome. I also painted the rims myself. I'm sure Remo will send you out a Chrome shell if you request it.

+Tyler Colvin Do you know if Texas Tech has any more of the Remo Legato Snare Drums likes yours. SU Change there snares since the drums were over 15 years old. SU got them in early 1998 and switch out in 2014 after getting with Yamaha.

Haha I actually got this Remo direct from Texas Tech. Still has the Texas Tech logo in the clear coat of the shell. The rims were black. Probably a drum with a little big of history to it. But I wanted to make a replica of my favorite college band. Which now that signed with Yamaha and have all new chrome Yamaha's and all new Silver ones. I have a Yamaha direct from the Cavaliers after they retired the all silver ones. I'd hate to change that one ,, but that all chrome does look pretty awesome. I'll have to think about it. Maybe just buy another. I don't wanna change the one that a actual Cavalier played with. Still have proof of purchase on that showing it came from the cavaliers. Means nothing probably.

Remo Legato's aren't good drums.. My High School drumline used them with just the standard black finish.. He got the drums sounding pretty good but the maintenance sucks.. The top snares break all the time because they're drums designed for bag pipe bands not corps.

Nah, I'm from mobile but the school that uses that drum plays similar to how I was. I study DCI also so that's why you won't see me going to over the top with raising my sticks all that high. And I like to stay still and show no expression when playing. But yea, I attended a high school that played like you see me doing in the video.
