This interviewer is fantastic. I agree with almost all of the feedback. The framework was excellent and this is often one of the hardest things to teach. I thought the analysis using the chart was acceptable, but would have liked for candidate to step back and have a higher level picture of what he was looking at and try to use the chart to draw some conclusions. Candidate ultimately found the important data (market trends and corresponding profitability) but needed a lot of help to draw conclusions about this. Finally, when analyzing a high level final question, it is always important to make sure that you think back to the original question we are answering. In this case, First Steps is concerned about losing market share. Profitability matters, but let's not get lost in the weeds of logistic costs. I'd love to see candidate tailor his final answer with that question in mind (regardless of the answer selected). Candidate has a lot of the fundamentals down and wish him well in his career.

I think this kid is brilliant. I think the feedback/critique was actually a bit harsh. I work in MBB consulting (was showing this video to help a prospective candidate). We have accepted kids who have done far far far far worse on their case interviews than this college student did. well done.

As the interviewer was saying Justin was actually thinking as fast as he was writing which is actually fantastic. nd here i m struggling with my communication skills with the interviewer. 😐

I paused the video and worked on the structure by myself first, and I ended up with almost the exact same structure as his, what are the odds! Although I gotta say, him having a separate financial bucket almost doesn't seem MECE anymore, since some synergies have already been discussed in the second bucket.
