I love this approach to teaching. Too many coaches make videos to show off their personality. You get straight to technique. It's great boxing instruction and just excellent education in general. People will actually get better from this videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them!

This is definetly more relaistic compared to other channels that show their defence. In most of their channels, the guy throws the punch in super slow motion which is very unrealistic compared to real boxing where punches are thrown very fast. This was more of a relaistic example of how it works.. Can I just say if you could make the guy punch abit more faster to mimmic a more real realistic example then it would look even better

This guys really is a phenomenal coach, not often you go to a gym anywhere in the UK and find a coach who can deliver this amount of knowledge of the sport, I coach fighters and I'm very impressed with this guys content, not many coaches at all teach all of these techniques. 1 thing I don't understand is that you're teaching to incorporate an outside slip with the first parry, I feel like that leaves you to exposed if the kid you're fighting had fast hands, ove always thought it better to leave the head in position, then if the opponent throws a feint with a left hook behind it you can quickly turn the parry hand into a check.... what's your thoughts Scott?

The lead parry touch down ist stupid. Your chin is not protected against your opponent's right hook. Same with the lead catch parry.
@McLeodScott3 жыл бұрын
I have to laugh when I get comments like this. No defense is full proof. There is always a gap that can be capitalised on. If you are a fighter and are defensively aware, understand your opponents rhythm and can read the situation then you’ll know to dip, roll under, step back or step to the outside away from your opponents right hand. Even I’ve managed to parry with my lead then bring my lead hand back quick enough to catch the cross 😂 it’s not difficult. The lead hand is one of the most utilised defence tools in Soviet boxing no matter what stance is in front of them. My fighters predominantly use the lead hand parry’s facing a southpaw but an extended lead hand can be used successfully against and orthodox or southpaw opponents. I’ve seen it time and time again and my fighters have had success with it. To call a move stupid when it is utilised by many great fighters is a typical KZbin comment. Just don’t use it if you can’t pull it off 👍🏼

So, when I was boxing my coach told me use my peripheral vision to see their lead leg/foot. Because 95% of the time that is going to move before the punch comes. You can time them. Guess what, it happens in this video. The lead foot moves just before the punch comes. Watch, he takes that forward step just before the punch comes. Your all welcome from my coach.
