Күн бұрын

I found this old Suzuki GN for sale second hand. It was broken and leaking but there was something special about it that drew me in, so I decided to fix it up and give it a budget make over.
This film follows three months of weekends to get it ready for the first ride.
Thanks to Marty for helping me with the project.
Music: I wrote this music specifically for this video.
MOOG: The First Ride. Get it on iTunes and all digital music platforms
itunes.apple.c...
And at mightycarmods....
It takes 37 muscles to frown
17 to smile
And just 7 to twist the throttle

I died a little when he painted over that beautiful orange paint. i loved the way the bike was turning out until that point. Still a nice bike, but the orange tank would have made it a head turner.

I haven't ridden in a little over 8 years. I had a nasty crash when I was younger, some broken bones and needing a blood transfusion. I recently spent some time with a good, lifelong friend catching up and the subject of riding came up. Getting back on a bike after my crash was something I never overcame in all this time despite occasionally thinking about it. Anyway it turned out my friend has an old Superdream in his shed among a few other bikes which he offered me. I tentatively said yes, feeling it was a good time to get back into it. Watching this video has made me feel a kind of heartwarming excitement that I can't really describe and I'm left counting the days until that little Honda is sat in my garage and I can go out on it. Thanks guys ❤️

Just had a crash myself, after a 10 year hiatus not riding. Silly low speed fall, 1 block from home, hit the pavement hard, broken foot and lots of scrapes... Take it from me: it's all about the gear. Get good gear and WEAR IT ALL THE FREAKING TIME!

I would have left it orange or painted it gray personally. But I'm not a huge fan of all black, Moog's 240 is also ALL black in the same way, along with the WRX and the Focus they just built.... something tells me Moog has a thing for all black lol

Getting my first bike tomorrow. (Probably) I'm here. Back watching this video just to have a look again and realized it took me more than 4 years.... Don't stop. And don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Fight for what you want and keep always going no matter how hard it is. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and you might get lucky and find something beautiful. Cheers to the MCM guys and everyone who reads this.

Riding a motorcycle that you have worked on gives you emotions that are hard to describe. It's a feeling that you can only get when you put hours of effort, work, and love into your own bike. It's almost like there's a special bond between you and the machine, and it is the best feeling in the world.

O my goodness, this deserves so much more than just a like and a favorite! Some hundreds of dollars for the bike. 3 Months of work to fix the bike up. Dozens of hours composing and editing to make a masterpiece. And it all comes down to 7 muscles to twist a throttle, 1 smile on Moog's face and it was shared by 10's of thousands of other people :) It's absolutely incredible, put this is a short film festival and I'd vote for it any day! I agree with you guys but think you've overstated it. Not you, Tunsafun[BSTRD]. You appear to be given to overstatement when simple disagreement would cover it . But I have to say I agree. Tell us it was plasti-dip Moog and it will be orange again in the morning. Maybe I just live in a part of the world where the blacked-out look is played out.

I just bought that same model as a first bike and it is so incredible, it feels so much better than a car and I will definitely paint it, maybe with that same orange

Mods are awesome, but I've always thought those old bikes are perfect the way they are. I gotta say I was a bit sad to see the seat and the orange go away. Good stuff anyway :)

You are not alone. I also prefer it in its original shape. I've seen some people ruining perfectly running bikes trying to 'cafe-tize' then :(

Been following you guys for awhile now, not forever, but for awhile, and the only reason I know about this video is because of your 250 tips in one video that you JUST released. SO glad I watched and so glad you referenced this because otherwise I may never have seen it. I'm just starting a custom bike project myself and this definitely gave me a HUGE motivation boost. Thanks for all you guys do and keep pumping out that Aussie Goodness.

Moog how do you make these videos so beautiful man? Everything about your videos just puts me in the mood that you want me to be in. That one video where you and Marty drove off through the woods and the camera elevated up and panned away honestly made me choke up, this one makes me feel like I'm watching my dad tinker on his bike back in the day, and you never even say a word. I hope you never grow too old to love what you do, the music is beyond me, I listen to as much of your music as I can find and I love it all. Much love from Arizona ✌🏻 you're inspiring me to be better with every video

Nice one moog!! Always great to see a fellow biker build his own bike, I built a 89 honda cbr 600 into a street fighter using the arse end of a suzuki sv650. The front was all made by hand. Ride safe brother =) and remember loud pipes save life's!

I never liked the whole "blacked out" idea, but to each his own I guess. I like restoring old bikes too and it give one a great sense of pride to take it out for the first time and enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
