Achieving double flawless victories in the endurance mode while on the pit level and then fighting the glitched, green kombatants. For a while, I thought that nobody else ran into this. I'm glad that this video is here to validate my child hood and that I was NOT the only one who ran into that... Any game code readers capable of explaining that glitch? If so, a nice explanation would be appreciated..

In the summer of 1994, a friend and I found this "glitch" character. We used the DULLARD code and played around with the flags. We were blown away by this fucked up character we found. Occasionally it would come up in conversation, so we never forgot it. But we could never figure out how we got there. At one point I started to doubt it had happened. But in 2015 I saw a post on a forum describing a character that looked like Sonya "covered in green garbage". That rang a bell, so I started to research the flags and what they did. Here's what you have to do. Having an emulator and save states really works. - Flags 0, 2, 3, 5, 6 on. I don't know 100% sure if they ALL need to be on, but this combo works. - Endurance match on the pit (one of your three endurance matches will always be on the pit) - Double flawless and fatality - MAYBE no blocking? Can't say 100% for sure but I read you have to be a character that doesn't use the block button in their fatality. Still, with an emulator and save states, this is not that challenging. - You will end up fighting Scorpion in the bottom of the pit, EXCEPT, since it's an endurance match, you'll get a second opponent after defeating him. that will be the glitch character. It will be whoever was the 2nd character in that endurance match. - From what I've seen, this can only be Sonja, Rayden and Johnny Cage. There are just three matchup schedules so that must be the three characters that end up as the 2nd opponent of a Pit endurance match. - I don't think these characters are actually glitches. For them to be like this difficult, they must be programmed to look and behave exactly like this.

All you have to do is get to reptile on an endurance round for this to happen. Educated guess/explanation from a developer who's not a genesis developer, Reptile doesn't have his own sprite palette. There's only one ninja sprite afaik and a different color palate is applied to make the other ones. The whacked out colors is because the green reptile color palate is getting applied to the 2nd player sprite. The game also thinks it's a ninja character so the referenced animations are in the wrong location in memory which is why you see them in weird random animations. Instead of pulling the animation for ninja standing there its getting johnny cage mid air flipping or whatever

I had gotten so good at playing the game on the hardest level, and always kept the silhouette code on via DULLARD mode, to ensure facing Reptile as much as possible, that one day I decided to challenge myself and go for Reptile during the endurance round, and to my surprise, I got a glitched Johnny Cage as my 2nd opponent. I went through all the combinations, using the battle plan, and found the glitched Cage, Sonya, and Raiden. The other characters just give you a 2nd Reptile. For years I assumed this was the infamous "ERMAC" glitch rumored in the arcade version, but its not. I recently purchased an MK counter cade from Arcade1up, and finally got to face Reptile in the arcade version...Its hard enough facing 1 Reptile, what with having to wait every dozen or so matches for the silhouettes to appear, but I wonder if this glitch exists in the arcade version?

Is nice to see a compilation of the SNES bugs. Not sure if you knew about some of these or forgot to include but here are some more bugs: - Freeze an enemy: Be close & jump to the enemy while throwing a high kick (so he defends but you don't connect), then immediately jump back. - Freeze Goro: Using Scorpion I believe all you had to do was teleport to hit him and follow with a spear & maybe a sweep (he can't fall down and you won't break the freeze when you sweep). - Disco ending: Beat Shang Tsung while he transform to Goro while doing the bug above. - Double Freeze fatality: As Sub-Zero bring the HP of the enemy low (e.g. 4 uppercuts), then freeze the enemy & follow to perform a quick Fatality - Round 6 and beyond: Tie 4 rounds, win the 5th with either player (to avoid game over). Press Start to continue Round 6 and beyond (digits glitches after 9). Now you can perform Liu Kang's Fatality with dark background! - 1 Button moves: Kill the opponent with a move (e.g. Kano's Knife). In the next round by just pressing block, you'll send the projectile. This gets fixed if you press any other button, including the directional pad. - Walk through enemy 2: It's mentioned in the comments, Use Sonya in the Endurance rounds. Finish the first opponent with her leg throw (and talking about Sonya and walking through enemies, her fatality could be done from very far). - CPU vs CPU: I don't remember the details on this one though :( (I believe you started similar like how you're able to control Goro & Shang Tsung and then lose...) - Enemy performs Fatality: Also don't remember how this one was done :( (unless I'm getting confused and that happened in the Genesis version...)

Nice to see others also found the ones for Cage on the arcade machine. Just so you know it was such a fact fatality to perform (knocking head off) that you could do even more than what was shown in this video if you were fast enough. My personal record was knocking 3 heads off and then shadow kicking the body over. I'm not kiding, got that once or twice. Getting at least 3 heads off was a lot easier though. Damn the memories.

Nice video, but in arcade missed the sub-zero frozen in the endurance, the letter double ice blast in the endurance and in the fatality, and a crash when win in the endurance for time the first character :D, although the SNES surprised me with Goro good job my friend.

There is also another Arcade glitch with Raiden were you start punching high the opponent, then execute his fatality when the opponent is pushed back. Raiden will throw lighting towards the opponent's head, without reaching him. Still his head will explode.

There's one glitch missing i used to do.is when you face two opponents the trick is get the first one on "danger"and cornered and you have to be close so you just hit with the upper fist repetitively so the opponent in danger will duck but get hit then he or she falls then gets up picks you up and launch you across the stage and falls dead again then you hit all the buttons in once when the second opponent jumps into the stage (while you still in the air) and that creates the glitch the toy fight him floating or suspended in the air.this was in the arcade.i never played the other versions though

Surprised I didn't see Sub-Zero's "dead but alive" fatality. You freeze your opponent when they have just a smidgen of health left and then do the shatter fatality while he's already frozen. You get a dizzy enemy standing on a mound of broken ice crystals..

Nice glitches, I remember 2 glitches you can do as Sub-Zero on SNES 1) Throw your enemy 4x, he/she will be with just 1% os his/her life, then freeze him/her and you win 2) Repeat number 1, then do the fatality, if done correctly the enemy will break and show his/her legs, but also will be back to life in the finish pose

There were another two glitches known to me on Sega Mega Drive, on the Pit stage, you could perform the Liu Kang fatality from afar and then simply uppercut, the victim would fly with double speed onto spikes where screen is too slow to follow it. Second one is on the warrior shrine stage in two players vs mode, same with Kang you perform his fatality from afar then come to the victim and just stay in block until the continue screen appears, then you uppercut him/her and he/she will fly onto spikes just like it were the pit stage, though it will be all in textures and glitches.
