Genius ! I hook up a Digital Alarm Clock via a 4 meter HDMI cable. This YG 300 with its battery can last from 1 - 1.5 hrs. Just mount it on my bed head with Clams which I obtain from Office Works. My Wi Fi Digital Alarm Clock comes with USB ,HDMI , Optical and others ports which I have no idea what they are for but all understand they are all inputs. The best buy I ever did and the best place you can watch Movies, MP4 and even playback MP3 on Big Screen on the ceiling while in bed .. best position which you wont hurt your back or get sore on your neck.

Mia Landgren You would need some sort of chromecast or amazon fire stick device plus a power supply to plug it into. The chromecast or stick would go into the HDMI connector on the projector. 👌 However please note some paid per view apps/streaming services won’t allow them to be connected to a projector. For example BT Sport doesn’t allow it unless you have a prescription on your TV. (I only have it on my phone so it doesn’t work. And if you have an IOS device (Apple) then you can’t connect Netflix to a projector either. Netflix does work on an android phone, but not Apple.

I will add, These types of mini projectors like the M24 & this YG300 are able to be run off powerbanks through 5v! This makes them PERFECT for camping. Just load up a usb and hang a sheet and you have your own drive in cinema. I'd recommend getting a bluetooth speaker and running it through the headphone jack for better sound. Also buy the M24 for about the same price, its at 480 x 320 resolution, basically double for abit better picture quality.

To watch a film you do need either a film on a memory stick or you can connect a dvd/blu-ray player, or even an amazon fire stick/google chromecast etc. Just to warn you though this is more of a kids projector so don’t expect too much from it for the price. Hope that helps!

MCPHONEY yeah I just bought mine and from what I’ve seen on KZbin bout it general is pretty good but my problem was the fact that i can’t watch any movie on it. And yes I do have a fire stick which I use for regular a movies and Netflix. When I saw the add they didn’t show that I was going to need an extra adapter now that I bought it and it just seating there just for the fact I don’t want to buy something else and still not be able to watch movies on it.

Innah Baylon It’s a tough question this... But technically...I think yes. You would have to connect your phone to the projector via an MHL adaptor or Apple HDMI adaptor (depending on which phone you have) Then also connect your phone via Bluetooth to the speaker. I can’t test it out unfortunately as Ino longer have this projector but in theory it should work!

You could but I wouldn’t recommend it. This is the cheapest of the cheapest when it comes to projectors. Yes it does the job in terms of providing a picture but its only at 320x240 resolution. A standard HD tv is 1920x1080 so quite a big difference. Like i said in my review I think this is more for children or someone who isn’t that fussed on picture quality. It does what it says but personally I’d either save up and buy a better projector or stick with a tv! Hope that helps! 👌

Thanks for the info, but WHERE do I find out just HOW to make it play movies? My projector is from Temu and says Q2 on the top. There is no make or brand etc. I have got mine to turn on and I can bring up the menu etc. But when I put in a USB, nothing happens. Do I have to download a programme? When I connect my iPhone nothing happens. Also, when it shows the Source, mine is: AV, HDMI, MEDIA, SD CARD, WIRED SCREEN. There is no USB to click on, even though there is a USB slot on the projector!! I am completely frustrated and disillusioned with this projector!! PLEASE, PLEASE HELP - I need someone to actually show it being set up - I don't need any more reviews. Thanks in anticipation.

Hmm… that’s an interesting one! When you say “put in a USB”, just to clarify you do mean a USB stick with some files/media on it? If so. I’m surprised nothing happens. However it could be a number of factors. (Faulty connection/knocked in transit etc) As for connecting your phone, usually you have to buy an Apple Lighting to HDMI adaptor…and they aren’t cheap…(approx £50) So for now can you try connecting someone up via a HDMI cable? Suck as a dvd player, games console etc? Also if you have a memory card, then try placing that it the SD card slot. I doubt there is anything you need to download for it and it should just recognise the input/connection. You could also try connecting your phone to the USB port and see if it starts charging your phone. If so then it could be an “output” and not an “input”. Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

I bought this for the kids bedroom. It is not that great. We watched couple of movies on it. I connected the fire stick through HDMI. Fire stick has an option to connect to Bluetooth speakers so I connected mine to the soundbar. The projector screen that I bought was no good. In fact, this worked OK on a white wall in our house. The room needs to be very dark for the picture to appear clear on your screen. Spend few more quid and get a decent one if you are looking to get a clear image!

Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good. Did you buy it like that or has that just happened? If it arrived like that the contact where you bought it from asking for a replacement/refund. If it has just randomly happened then it sounds like connection issues inside. I could be wrong of course. Have you tried all of the connections such as the HDMI or memory card input to see if it shows up on all of them?

Since it has HDMI, you could. But I don’t recommend as the image is a lot worse than this video shows. I’ve bought one before (new), and it was absolutely terrible. For the same price, I suggest buying a used names brand product, like Epson. I did that, spent the same amount of money, and the image difference is absolutely amazing on the Epson.

Hi Dennis, thanks for watching and commenting! 👌 When it comes to pictures, in my review I just used jpg files on a memory stick plugged directly into the projector itself. However if you are looking to show off some pictures in glorious detail then I wouldn’t recommend this device. Buy If you are just planning on having a few random family/fun pictures in the far background of a party then that would be fine. Basically pictures can be seen but are a bit pixelated. Hope that makes sense!

I think that is just a simple setting option, whilst playing a video (in Netflix on the iPad) there should be a dialogue box to click on and then change the sound options to make sure it’s NOT on Dolby surround! Hope that helps! 👌

Hi there, I feel personally this projector would not be sufficient for your plans of a garden hike cinema. This projector works best in complete darkness and if you do plan to have a few people around to watch it with then I’d suggest splashing out a bit more. Thats a good question...and Im not sure of the answer. Technically yes....You would somehow have to connect your phone to the projector and with this one its only possible via an official apple lightning to hdmi adaptor and hdmi cable. But then your phone would transmit both the picture and sound to the projector and not the phone. However if you then connected your phone to the airpods....it could work. Hi Eric, to my knowledge this projector doesn’t have a built in battery I’m afraid. It has to be plugged in to a main power source in order to work.

@@Drogba777 Yep, I've bought a cheap HDMI-cable and it instantly worked for me. My projector didn't come with a HDMI-cable though, ordered a wrong one along with the projector so buying a proper HDMI-cable fixed it for me.

Does the colour of the wall matter? I have a pale purple wall and I dont want to spend extra money on a white screen or hang up a white sheet, so would it look alright on my wall?

The wall colour can make a difference Im afraid, The whiter the better tbh. :-) In this demo/video the wall is very light brown colour and it does still slightly reduce the picture/colour. I suppose it depends how pale the purple is really. If it was VERY light then you may be ok. Sorry I couldnt be more definite but defo white works best!

You can connect ipad/iphone to it but unfortunately you need an adaptor im afraid. MHL or Lightning to HDMI. You can get cheap ones but as I have found out Apple dont like you using "non apple" products with there devices and they either dont work or if they do then they suddenly stop after a short while. Can you cancel the order or return the projector? Or do you have a google cast/amazon fire stick to connect to it to watch netflix? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

The thing I am worried about is how good the picture will be once you’re connected up. I think the Apple adaptor (lightning to HDMI) costs more than the projector itself! Obviously it’s up to you but I’d hate for you to spend even more money and be dissatisfied! (This is only a 320x240 resolution projector. A HD TV for example is 1920x1080 resolution) So if you plan to use it a lot it may be worth saving up for a better projector? A did a review for another budget projector which maybe better kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHiXYZekmsSZppI Or this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIa9qaJngbxgiqs But at the same time you would still have to buy an adaptor to hook up your iPad. So instead of hooking up an iPad it may work out cheaper to buy an amazon fire stick or google chromecast to watch Netflix. Sorry to get so complicated!

Hi Pauline, you can connect your phone via additional cables (which I’ve placed in the description) and yes your laptop too with a HDMI. However... You can’t cast Netflix from phones anymore, it used to work on android phones but that appears to have stopped now too. As for via a laptop...I haven’t tried that myself and will give it a go tomorrow. (My laptop is so old though, it will probs take about a week to install Netflix on it because it runs so slow! Ha ha!) But overall I wouldn’t recommend this projector for replacing your tv, even if you don’t watch it much. Basically this projector is good for the price but because it’s so cheap you don’t get much in terms of quality. It’s more of a kids projector really. If you want a budget projector it maybe worth looking at the Blitzwolf I reviewed, it’s a bit more expensive (around £70 a £90 but far superior than this YG300). And if you want it for Netflix then the easiest way is via either a google chrome cast or Amazon Firestick. Personally I prefer the Firestick but that’s just my personal preference! Hope that helped in some way! I’ll let you know how I get on with the laptop and Netflix! Any more questions just let me know! 👌

Thanks Stephen, to be honest the quality of the projection is “slightly” better when viewed with the naked eye as during filming the camera added a slight bit of noise to the footage because it was being filmed in such low lighting! Tbh I wouldn’t recommend this projector anymore, now that I have a bit more experience of them. However at the same time I think they have updated them so they are not as bad. (If that makes senses sense!) As for watching the football it will depend on how you are watching it in your phone. Some streams can’t be broadcast, especially if they are pay per view.

It would work but it wouldn’t be the best. You would have to have a completely blacked out room and the maximum screen size this projector can produce is 60 inches and even then everything is not in sharp detail and not exactly bright. This is more of a kids projector I would say. Sorry about that!

Like I said in the review I feel this projector is more for children as they are not too fussed on the quality - they just like the big(ish) screen size. Ha ha! You can connect your IPad via an adaptor from Apple (must be official one) called the Lightning to HDMi adaptor. but then you would need a HDMI cable as well. The only problem is Apple block a lot of apps/movies/programs (such as Netflix) being projected. Not sure why because it works with android phones. I received my projector. You can stream Netflix, youtube, hulu, etc... The problem is when I tried to use a bigger speaker for the sound it doesn't work. The main reason I bought it so we can use it outdoor withe the entire family. So that was a bummer.

Gutted! How frustrating! Have you tried the speaker/headphone port on the projector with a pair of headphones/another speaker just to confirm it is faulty then maybe you could notify where you got it from and ask for a replacement?? Sorry to hear about that though! 😔

You do need either an amazon fire stick, chromecast, android box if you wish to watch Netflix. or an MHL adaptor for android/official apple lightning to hdmi adaptor for iOS if you wish to watch Netflix from your phone. Hope that helps! 👌

L B Not really I’m afraid but it depends on what you want. If you want good picture quality as well as portable projector then maybe the Apeman M4 would be more suitable. (I’ve done a review on my channel recently) However it is a bit more in terms of cost but well worth it. I feel this projector is ok but not a permanent solution for watching stuff on a big screen! Hope that helps!
