The vegan burgers at fast food chains aren't really there to attract individual vegans, they are there so that groups of friends who have 1 vegan in the mix don't immediately exclude that chain from their choices because one person can't eat there. And also for non-vegans who wanna maybe try it out of curiosity. My bff has been vegetarian for 8 years and for ages my whole friend group did not go to McDonalds bc of her, we'd pick other places that could please everyone.

As a life long vegetarian (not vegan) I've eaten a LOT of vegetable burgers, some good, some not so good and some really good ones, I'll have to agree that as far as commercially available to the general public options, the Whopper is by far the best. It really comes down to the toppings and I'm an "all the way" guy - everything on it and ketchup, mustard, mayo and pickles. Of course a good, sturdy bun makes all the difference as well. By the way, Ollie's southern accent is pretty damn good! (I'm a southern boy as well). Thanks guys and some good laughs there! Also, cheese is a no go for us lactose intolerant vegans! We don't have a Shake Shack in my area but it's good to be aware! ;D

What do you mean by "cheese is a no go for us lactose intolerant vegans", dont all vegans not eat cheese?

When I want a Maccies, but a big mac will make me feel guilty, I get a McPlant. It's genuinely not bad.

Has anyone else noticed the film quality had decreased dramatically. Their faces look blurred and the lighting makes them looked washed out. Compare the older videos and it's dramatic. On the bright side, Ollie's accent was spot on.

Kudos, Ollie, the "Kentucky" accent was at least several shades of Southern.

0:13 "What comes to mind is natural, healthy" lol, as someone that enjoys lot's of vegan items, there's a ton of unhealthy and processed vegan foods. Tons of the candies, chips/crisps, cookies (standard Oreos!), cereals, candied nuts, baked goods, cereals, etc, that I've seen enjoyed on this channel are vegan. Even one of their favorite's, Buc-cee's beaver nuggets, might be vegan, depending on what the source of the "natural butter flavor" is (the 'natural' doesn't necessarily mean it came from real butter)

this isnt a vegan channel! follow vegan channel pls!
@stinehald1102 жыл бұрын
@@coraline1503 they literally did a video on a vegan food item, i should be allowed to express my desire for more similar videos in the future. veganism is everywhere, and you don’t have to be “a vegan channel” to do content on it

Normal cheese is not vegetarian either as it contains cow rennet.

My faves are definitely McPlant and the KFC burger... unfortunately the vegan whopper isn't officially certified vegan because they cook it on the same grill as real meat... bit disappointing for those of us that can't eat it because of that 😭😭😭

You can ask them to clean the grill before cooking it

In Australia they apparently have a different grill for the burges at Hungry Jacks.
@jillmayer95012 жыл бұрын
Most restaurants use the same grill. It is still considered vegan because you're not directly contributing to animal suffering. That being said - the vegan whopper uses impossible meat and while that is considered vegan now they used to test on animals. :/
@KhronicD2 жыл бұрын
@@jennifert8542 As someone who works in BKs as a contractor, not an actual BK employee. That is NOT going to happen. It takes at least an hour to break down the broiler and clean it properly. Many places don't do it right even outside of this specific interaction. Google "Nieco broilers" and look at how they're built. You can't just wipe them down.

Wouldn't cooking in a different/exclusive grill be kind of bad for the environment overall? More electricity/gas consumption Idk lol

People fail to remember that going vegan doesn't just mean eating buddah bowls amd drinking green smoothies, some people go vegan for the animals and earth, I've been for 5 years and I go to burgerging whenever I go to the big city which is 40 mins away so not too often, and I like to go to mcdonalds as well, not eating meat doesn't just happen because people suddenly develop a hate for sausage shaped things... It's not about hating meat and banning taste.

Out of all these vegan options, I really liked A&W Plant-based nuggets but they were only available for 5? or 7days, a bit salty but it was good. I'm not a vegan but I just really liked nuggets 😆
