The others seem a bit too frufru for me, but you really can't beat a homemade meal by a mom who really cares using recipes handed down for generations. @blackdragonsaber79563 жыл бұрын
I agree with Orca’s comment above mine, unfortunately nearly all the vegans i’ve met have either been really pushy about veganism/killing animals or had some sort of a superiority complex, which is a shame. One of my good friends has been vegetarian/vegan for a long time, and she was never pushy, she just lived her life. Even as a meat eater, i would totally eat at a place like Seasoned Vegan, their food looks down to earth and delicious. Too bad i’m allergic to cashews, so it’s hard to find places that don’t use them as an ingredient :/

@Atomic_Haggis6 жыл бұрын
It might be because some vegans generally feel the need to tell *everyone* that they're vegan.
@cheesecake72746 жыл бұрын
@@Atomic_Haggis You can't really escape it. There are so many situations where food is important, and you have to tell people you're vegan. Even if it's just conversation around food, which happens several times a day. I's hard to omit a central part of your experience with food just because people don't want to hear it, when they are the one asking you about food. Also when people meet you and want to get to know you, should you omit one of the central parts of your beliefs, one of the things you build your identity around and feel strongly about, just because someone might not want to hear it? For people who are not vegan, they might eat mindlessly, but as a vegan you are continuously busy thinking about the ethics of food and the culture surrounding it, it becomes an important part of who you are, like an ideology, or a political affiliation.
@CRAZEH2476 жыл бұрын
@@cheesecake7274 Yeah you can't really escape it because vegans try to shove it down the throats of everyone they meet. Fairly certain that is the reason why people don't like Vegans, because of the fact they use their diet (as you understand too) as some kind of an identity and like to announce it without people asking them. The problem isn't when someone asks them about being vegan or not, the problem like I've just said twice is that they do it unsolicited and parade around. Also, that's a straight up lie/presumption about people who aren't vegan that they eat mindlessly. Please don't try to assert what you guess people are like and think before you do it. Before you assume again, I was born in Pakistan where meat is very expensive for a normal household and majority of food is very vegetarian based. Yes, Vegans who don't keep it to themselves unless asked annoy the hell out of me. I wonder how you feel about other people that parade around their political beliefs. I wonder about whether vegans shut others out if they disagree with the views on certain ideologies or politics. Because if they do, then they're no better than anyone else, and should stop pretending that they are because they seem to think that they understand the ethics and culture of food.
@LovePinku66 жыл бұрын
@@cheesecake7274 just because something is a large part of your identity doesnt mean you needa announce it to every human u meet. Being bi largely shapes who i am and feminism is an ideology i strive to follow but i dont go up to ppl like 'hi, im a bi feminist'
@aptangel78906 жыл бұрын
@@LovePinku6 you're generalizing. You're heavily exaggerating. Veganism can solve so many world problems and people tend to bring up things that are related or can be solved by being vegan. If someone brought up that they loved an animal product, I doubt that you would notice much less care...

there's 2 types of vegan food offering: 1. one that is created with pure love for the art and appreciation of taste. Beautiful creations, taste heavenly. Attitude like: "we care for your health and for the planet, but we also care for your happiness" so yes the food has to be great.. When they say "This is good for you" you can absolutely believe it. 2. one that is created with (SJW?) spite and is utter crap, but has an attitude like: "if you don't like our food, that means you are a horrible person. You MUST like our food, otherwise you're a pig and you don't care about the planet." you know where the problem is.

I mean I love potatoes but after watching this video it makes me think that we just don't use other vegetables to their full potential, like I've only ever had cauliflower or carrots just boiled, and obviously that isn't going to make me rank it as the no.1 veggie, but it just so happens that potatoes are commonly exploited in different dishes so they get more credit than other vegetables.. does that make sense? lol

@AstronomyWales6 жыл бұрын
I used to be a huge meat eater. I used to work in a kitchen and tried to fit every kind of meat I could into one sandwich, plus cheese eggs etc. I can honestly say the gap between meat and mock meat is closing rapidly. There are now mock meats that are indistinguishable from the real thing. As more people go vegan I'm sure things will only get better. Flavour wise and nutrition wise.

I like watching vegan content because I'm too poor to afford shrimp and crab and other things regularly, and I don't believe in eating real fois gras, and being able to reproduce the texture and flavor at home with more obtainable ingredients (Plants are always cheaper than meat) or at least reproducing the LEVEL of tasty, is a very appealing idea.
@omgweirdozz6 жыл бұрын
For all the comments saying that being a vegan would be too difficult, it's not! I see how you might think that and it can be in the beginning. But give it time and join some vegan groups on Facebook and you'll find all kinds of inspiration! From the moment that I decided to cut down on my meat intake to the one I went vegan, was about 3 years. But now that I'm here, I'm eating so much delicious food and I would never go back to eating animal products! Give it a Google and give it a try, you won't regret it 🌱

It's all about access and cost. The cheapest thing in this video was $10. That is unfortunately high and you must make sure you are supplying yourself nutritionally. I don't see the appeal in restricting your diet at a much higher cost, especially if it burdens everyone around you.

@Loic BergeronThe whole point of an distinction of higher animals and others is their concious to feel pain and abilities to adapt to and manipulate the environment in their favour in a pattern which looks like of reason. If you imagine that aliens are able to come here without such an ability, well that would be ground breaking. Avoiding to eat animals just because they are animals is simply bad logic, otherwise human carnivores had to eat humans aswell since humans are biologically higher animals.

In India, vegetarianism is mostly religious in nature and people consume lots of dairy products like milk, curd, paneer, ghee, butter, cheese, etc. which is the main reason India is one of the biggest exporters of beef in the world (please research on dairy exploitation in India). Veganism, on the other hand, is ethically motivated and we try not to use ANY animal products or services, which means we don't consume dairy, eggs, leather, wool, animal-tested cosmetics, etc. Thanks, an Indian vegan
