Most fast food meat is typically the leftover parts, so for instance in a chicken nugget you're partially getting like the feet and the tendons and whatever meat isn't used and other stuff like that. They do obviously serve regular chicken breast but sometimes it is mixed in with those extra parts. So I'm assuming the mcrib is the same thing as a chicken nugget. Maybe just a higher percentage of leftover meat.

My grandmother used to work at a distribution place where they’d send the McRib meat to the restaurants, when they stopped selling them they still had a shit ton of McRib meats left so she bought almost a full freezer vacuumed sealed packages. About a month or so of trying to deplete the stockpile. Honestly wasn’t too bad since it still had that sauce attached to the meat.

I've worked at mcdonalds for almost 3 years, this is my second time doing the mcrib, and I absolutely fucking hate it. Its the dumbest sandwich and it honestly isn't that great. First its really messy when made right which isn't a horrible thing because ribs are normally messy but its also supposed to be a sandwich which isn't supposed to be messy, secondly its purely the sauce that give it its flavor, I had a coworker who took a bite out of a dry mcrib after we had closed and he said there wasn't a taste and it was just texture. This actually brings me to my third point texture, the meat itself has the same texture of a mcd sausage which is to say super rubbery this bothers me as ribs are typically super soft and has a very distinct texture that is far from rubbery. My fourth point is the smell, its not as noticeable with just the sandwich and is actually rather pleasant but if you work at a McDonald's you know we keep the meat in a tray of that sauce in our holding cabinets, and it absolutely reeks its like a punch to the face. And my fifth and final point is that it takes way to long to make properly, its not difficult to make but if the sauce in the trays are running low you have to coat the rib yourself which takes time and when you work in fast food thats not time you have.

Same experience here. All my coworkers just hate the smell. I don’t like bbq sauce so I tried it without and it’s just so weird. It only tastes warm. No flavor. I didn’t even like the bun that much. Also the sauce is impossible to coat, like it’s so runny is does not stick to the meat at all and just slips off
