Apparently back in the day, RDJ actually auditioned to play Dr. Doom in 2005 I think for those first two Fantastic Four movies. Considering Feige was in his early with Marvel, I bet he was probably in that room when the audition happened and had the biggest long term play of his life.

Well, RDJ is a great actor and I never heard of any other actors I cared for to be Doom. As long as he keeps on his mask on 99% of the time it could work.

Not too happy about the choice, but there isn’t anything we can do. I wish the Kang storyline would get a proper send off. I still think that Kang has potential in the MCU. This could mean that there are other Doom variants like there are in the comics. RDJ even said he is playing Victor Von Doom. I just hope they scar him & don’t have him take off his mask every second

I would've liked to have seen someone else play Doom Prime. Maybe Mark Strong (Sinestro, Dr. Sivana) or Matthew Goode (Ozymandias). RDJ could've been a Doom Variant in Secret Wars. And Matt Smith as the eleventh Doctor.

Its a bold move for Marvel, but I'm here for it to see where it goes. Its the Multiverse Saga and anything is possible. I doubt he's the main (Prime) Doctor Doom, but there's something kinda cool seeing then only person to be Iron Man and at the core of the MCU lay the foundation for the intodruction to the anchoring of Doom in the MCU. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

What’s wild is, the more I talk about it the upset I get lol like this isn’t a 2024 announcement to be had when there are projects that were/are slated for this year and 2025 that aren’t getting any love. We need information on daredevil. What’s up with Shang Chi? Who is expected to fight Doom? We don’t officially have an Avengers team or movies leading up for a team up. Best case scenario: He's not the main Dr. Doom from Earth-199999, that's another person played by an actual Roma actor. It's just that for the multiverse crossover film, RDJ plays a Dr. Doom from another universe where Stark is Doom Worst case scenario: They're just having RDJ playing Doom with no explanation, probably under prosthetics

The only way it makes sense to me is that in the old comics (before various retcons), Kang was originally a descendant of the inventor of time travel, which was Doom. In the MCU though it was Tony Stark who invented time travel. So I guess it would make sense to tie Kang and the multiverse to Tony/Doom. Especially since the MCU has never mentioned or teased Latveria like they did with Wakanda leading up to the debut of Black Panther.

Who better to bring in to play the ultimate threat than the guy who played the ultimate hero. I'M HERE FOR THIS! Do these fools really believe that the Russo's and RDJ aren't going to deliver? This just is flat out lazy. There are tons of other actors that they could’ve chosen that would nail the role. I’m not saying RDJ can’t, but this just seems like a lazy way to get butts in seats. Doom is the best Marvel villain, and it is a huge letdown that he won’t be able to escape Tony Stark’s shadow in the MCU. Also they could’ve easily recasted Kang instead of deciding to rush Marvel’s top big bad.
