Miss my Zed. Had it for 6 years (among other bikes) and always loved it. Used it on track a lot, just for the fun of it and even tuned R1's didnt get past it on the straights😂 Brakes and front forks were the weakest part, but really only on track. Absolute missile and a handsome, comfortable "gentleman's -crotch-rocket". Thanks for posting👍

Had one for a couple of years a few year back, went into Europe ect and enjoyed the bike from the sporty side of things. Great bike, would have been a keeper had it not been for a car driver rear ending me at roundabout red light. Whilst I am on my second Busa now and it's maybe a wee bit different from the ZZR1200 , some pluses some minuses, the ZZR1200 is a motorcycle I rate very highly, very much more usable and still a ballistic missile. I have used Road 5s and Metzeller M9RR tyres on the Busa, both will work very well with the ZZR1200. ENJOY! 🇬🇧🏴👍🏻

People today talk to much and know a lot about nothing. It handles perfectly well in corners and the power is great.

My 04 now 29k, got her at 18k. Only issue was the strting relay. If it fails pay the money and get the upgraded one from a kaw dealer. Not the net. I did and it lasted 20 miles The new one 9k miles and still going. Did a 1000 mile round trip last summer. Loved it. Smooth, silky, and down right fast if needed.

June 2011 I got mine... honestly, I can't think of much I'd actually like to change it for....Great on fuel, loads of torque, dead easy to ride. There's about 83,000 miles on the clock at the moment, though the speedo cable had broken for a while, and at a few hundred miles every sunday, she's done a fair bit more than that.... A new (to me, anyway) rear shock replaced a leaking rear shock, and a few years ago I had to fit a new radiator....Kawasaki wanted about £700 for one, so I tried a chinese one for about £85 delivered, and that's been no problem.... She's been serviced now and then, but oil changes every year, ..... I get an oil filter at MOT time, and the bike still runs like a watch. I don't see the point in spending a fortune on tyres, and I've had no problems at all with normal sports touring rubber... none of them have ever slipped... I do quite like Pirelli's..... M&P often have them on offer......never had a problem. That'll do for now, ... nice to hear what you think about the bike. PS, what part of Wales are you in?

Hi and thanks for your comment, Yes the bike is quite cheap to buy and run alternatives like ZZR1400 Hayabusa ect are way more expensive by comparison. This video was shot in North Wales.

I am still relatively new to mine, a month of ownership and around 750 miles. I'm surprised how economical the bike is. Forts refill after London to Lanchasire run got 54mpg. A recent trip to the Classic Bike Show at Staffod via a friends at Marple and A roads all the way before Motorway return with panniers on returned nearly 52mpg. Best bit was leaving Macclesfield, I must of kept it in top gear for about 5 or 6 miles just to test it and it pulled from as low as 25mph with ease at some point on the journey.

Ive done about 7000 miles in the last five months So it’s safe to say I’m enjoying it .😀

@@mcycle24 unfortunately my insurance is with limited mileage so won't be racking up that sort of mileage just yet but making plans for next year. Back on bikes after 14 years out. Also got an 81 Z1100ST before the ZZR.

I've had mine for about 7 years now and I still have no idea most of the time what gear I'm actually in, it could do with a gear indicator just so I can find neutral easier
@mcycle243 жыл бұрын
😎 so it’s not just me then !
@LINKchris873 жыл бұрын
I ride a Katana and have the same issue, but I usually find that if the gear feels right, it's just the right gear. You can always downshift till neutral to restart^^

Ok, I'm not the only one then... But still loving the thing. Bought in jul this year and did allready +/-5000 km.

Would this bike go better faster on lower rpm and more torque with dynojet pack?

How much of a difference did you feel with the new shock? I have a sneaky feeling in my back mine needs replacing
@mcycle246 ай бұрын
Significant improvement in the handling for sure.

I fitted a set of Road 5’s this spring. A big difference in handling especially turn in. Great tires. Did you have to reroute any cables or the clutch line for the risers?
@mcycle243 жыл бұрын
I didn’t have to re route any cables, But I did remove a cable bracket for the throttle cables to allow them to move more freely.
@TheRailsailor3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I made a set of 1 inch risers from scrap ZZR clip ons but haven’t tackled the job as yet as I was unsure about clearances. Sometimes machining skills come in handy…

Hi having a spot of bother with my ZZR. Engine is cutting out at high revs what do you think could be causing this? Carbs fuel pump maybe? Idles a bit rough as well. Any info would be well appreciated thanks.
@mcycle24 Жыл бұрын
Sounds more likely a electrical problem, Coil’s and plug leads maybe, Check it’s running on all 4 cylinders spray some water on the downpipes they should all be hot.

Which bolts are used to fit the front indicators on? Thanks

What new rear shock did you put on it? Because I think my standard one needs replacing. I'm 6'6" weighting 120kg.
