wow ... I thought "I am Prince's biggest fan" but I don't know even half of these albums... woe:D Thanks man for opening my mind! Especially "What Time Is It?" sounds exactly like it would be up my alley. Parade and Lovesexy used to be my two favorite albums of his, but since so much material, especially live, has now appeared online, I have completely shifted my perspective on him... there is just so incredibly much more to the guy - he was a 100% fullblood certified musical genius.

Great list! It's a list that only a true student of my dude PRINCE'S art would come up with! It's also a little unorthodox considering the fact that it's supposed to be a greatest PRINCE albums list. I can understand your adding the MADHOUSE 8 album, but, not the TIME album! It makes sense considering that PRINCE played most of the instruments, wrote the songs, and compositions as well as arrangements, but, it's a TIME album! Excellent and classic album though. I would have to think for a long time about my top 10 list. However, the 1999 album is my all-time favorite album and it's what made PRINCE my musical hero in 1982 until today. You disappointed me by putting a commercial album like PURPLE RAIN so high on your list! Some of the music was so simple and commercial. It's still a solid album regardless! Let's Go Crazy, Take Me With You, and Computer Blue are stellar. PURPLE RAIN is too overplayed and commercial in my opinion ultimately! Am I wrong or did you miss adding CONTROVERSY to your list? If so, I think that would be a huge mistake, homie!

I'm not going to give my full top 10 list because most of them will be represented often by others in these comments. I will however, give 2 of my top 10 that are unlikely to appear on most lists. They are: Hit N Run Phase II. I love this album, especially coming off the heels of phase I which I did not like. This album was Prince getting back to his R&B roots. Favorite tracks are Look At Me, Look At You, Stare, Black Muse, and Baltimore. The other album in my top 10 that won't be on many list is Exodus. No disrespect to Michael Dean, but this is Prince's funkiest album. Favorite tracks are The Exodus Has Begun, The Good Life, Count The Days, and Get Wild.

So Mike I’ve shared this story with a few times. So Sign O‘ The Times came out the year I travelled to Europe. I saw Prince Live that year in 1987for the second time a few months after the release. When I came back to the States I found out he was presenting a film of the concert.

Controversy is definitely one of them for me because I had my Mom go back and buy it for me on cassette tape at Turtle's records and tapes 40 YEARS AGO because my Uncles turned me onto the title song with that AMAZING chicken scratch guitar chugging while driving the rhythm section. The Controversy Tour was my Mom's 1st concert and she told me that it was during a time when Prince was HOT and that the ONLY way that she can describe it since it was such a LONG TIME AGO was that it was mesmerizing beyond her wildest dreams. I used to know someone that said that Controversy was his BEST album even though I said 1999 at the time and she stated that he tapped into EVERYTHING with this record. I have Cashbox and Record World billboard charts saved on my phone that ranked Controversy HIGHER than rick james street songs LP back in the day.

Good list and love your takes on your favs. Parade will always go down as my favorite. New Power Soul is the only pick I disagree with. The Black Album, The Truth, One Night Alone, Controversy, Prince and The Family Album are better pieces of work to me. But always much respect for your takes and videos. Love watching them…….

I'd personally list all of Prince's '80s solos (excluding The Black Album) up to the tragically underappreciated Lovesexy, The Rainbow Children and 3121 (Prince's finest straightforward pop/craftsman record) as my top 10. Perhaps not that adventurous but I stand by it. If I went by personal preference, I'd sneak in Exodus (more or less a Prince project) and perhaps O{+> or Come. Prince never stopped making good music but album cohesion and editing post-80s is a recurring issue imo...

You have to include boots 👢 especially when not if the Estate officially releases the Deluxe Lovesexy campaign and has to bring the Small Club boot to the masses. 10. Small Club 1988 9. Rainbow Children 8. Come 7. Around the 🌎 world 6. Madhouse debut 5. Batman 4. Dirty Mind 3. 1999 2. SOTT and gotta go with the deluxe version of Purple Rain at #1 but the fact that Beautiful Ones long version is not on there loses a little shine. Still the best album notwithstanding.

Hey what do you think about The Truth? My top three are 1. Sign o the times 2. Live in Small Club Den Haag and One Nite Alone live 3. One Nite Alone piano Album 2002 Althoigh the Lovesexy is not easy to listen it was purely magic to me. And in certain moments N.E.W.S. is just mind blowing.
