Definitely the channel I’ve learned the most from. Killed a few cherry shrimp despite my best efforts, but I got them on Amazon, so who knows if the trip hurt them. But they had offspring and are thriving. My first tank is a nano cube and it’s thriving. I also set up a no-tech shrimp jar and it’s doing even better than the tank.

I really like your channel and your aquascapes. I am very interested in the follow up for this low tech tank. Most KZbin channels only show how to do aquascaping, but you never get to see how they actually maintain their tanks long term, or how they deal with problems like algae or plant melting or stunt growth down the road. The main reason ppl quit the aquarium hobby in my opinion is not because they are lazy and don't want to do water changes and maintenance, but because they set up their tanks following the instructions of KZbin aquascapers, then they are not told how to deal with the problems. Anybody can throw a bunch of wood and rocks and plants in a tank and then fill it with water and make it look amazing. But how you deal with the aftermath is a whole different matter. Ppl expect to follow the instructions and then enjoy beautiful nature aquariums, instead they start seeing all their plants melting and being covered in algae, sometimes the fish dies and everything ends up looking like a bog, no matter how hard they try. That's why they quit. Please, show us what happens next. After setting up the tank. And how you deal with the problems most aquascapers never really show to their viewers. I'll be very interested. Thank you!

For anyone wondering, the accelerator for the super glue can be found in most hobby shops. It is commonly used in building models of all kinds. It's not very expensive and really helps keep projects moving ahead by not having to wait for the glue to set. Edit: I just noticed MD posted a link to the glue and accelerator in the main video info.

What a beautiful nature aquarium! I wish we had such a great quality plants available for purchase in the US. In my area, all I managed to get is a tiny bunch with just a couple of leaves, sometimes already half dead, and super pricey. Even the tissue culture cups have only a few sad plants in them despite being so expensive! Often times, shortly after planting them in the tank they mostly melt or die, or struggle for a long time before they recover. That causes ammonia spikes and algae blooms that make the start of a new nature aquarium so much more difficult than in your case.

Pull the last molly from the swordtail tank.... you need more floating plants for dopey bebe mollys. They don't hide as well as swordta8ls do. Buy a high fin or lyretail molly sometimes they have better breeding lines. Also try hornwort it was great at saving babies because its spikey

Yes, you can pre soak wood. Even faster is "boiling" it (a simmer not a boil in fact), I bought a metal bucket to fit my bigger bog wood in covered it with water and put it over a camp fire to simmer.

I've seen quite a few aquascape videos where the creator is just snapping or sawing branches off of bigger clumps. After that you just kinda glue them together in a configuration you like.

Man, I’m jealous. I cannot keep java fern. 31:19 I have an 8.1 sometimes 8.2 pH water and Java Fern. Just melt in about a month and never come back. Everything else grows fine. I just can’t keep ferns. I’m going to try African fern or you call it bolbitus

My water is also 8-8.4 pH. I've got three types of java ferns growing and thriving. There's usually some initial melt because most java ferns are grown emersed, but after after a bit their submersed leaves start growing. My well water is also super hard 15dGH and 15dKH.

MD, i used old aquarium gravel, then nutribase, then capped with sand. Will nutribase produce co2?
