For your next Q&A… 1. Have you noticed with the latest update on the rmPP that finger touch no longer works on “clear clipboard”? It only works now with pen touch. I haven’t tested my rm2 yet to see if it stopped working there also. 2. How do you manage workflow and documents when using different eink devices? They can’t be synced between devices. When you change your daily use device, what happens to all the work you’ve done on other eink tablets?

About the front light, me, here on a farm with no electricity, endlessly appreciating it. I'd say it's subjective. About the Boox OS 4, I'm currently looking for a way to downgrade to 3.5.1. If I don't, I'll happily take the 4.

Carta 1300 + BSR on the Note Max is going to be fantastic. can't wait. will also have a reasonably good SoC to support Android 13, and the keyboard is even more of a bright point. we should be prepared for it to be heavy, though -- between the faster SoC, bigger screen and BSR, this sucker will require a *big* battery.
@davidrussell96623 күн бұрын
Battery spec is same as Go 10.3 at 3700 mAh and with BSR might have poor performance. For the love of all that is holy I dont understand why Boox dont make BSR a togglable feature.
@0xKruzr3 күн бұрын
@davidrussell9662 I've heard conflicting things about this: both that it's always on whether you want it to be or not, and that it's highly dependent on what refresh mode you have selected, such that it doesn't use much power when you have e.g. HD or Regal in use. I really want to test this myself on my Tab Mini C, just have to think of how to design a good test for it.

For your next Q&A: Does the contrast level on the daylight dc-1 cause eyestrain?

It will be interesting to see how BSR technology affects the 300 ppi screen and that crispness on the upcoming 13.3"

Re: Note Max’s Carta screen being “more flexible,” is this in relation to the Tab X’s flexible mobius screen or previous versions of Carta? I hadn’t heard anything about improved flexibility or durability in the Carta 1300.
@davidrussell96623 күн бұрын
Mobius are more robust which is why they are more expensive than Carta screens.
@kallaway13 күн бұрын
@@davidrussell9662 Right, but the Note Max does not have a Mobius display. Boox has confirmed it has a glass display, so I'm wondering what is meant by describing it as "more flexible."
@MyDeepGuide2 күн бұрын
It uses thinner glass which makes it lighter and a bit more flexible, afaik.
@davidrussell96622 күн бұрын
And much more easy to break?
@kallaway123 сағат бұрын
@@MyDeepGuide Do you happen to recall the source of this info? The fear of a thin glass display layer with that 13.3" inch surface area in a bag is my only hesitation with the Note Max. It just seems so vulnerable to outside pressure.

Hi Voja. Can you show us what are the advantages of using the MDO in the Notes app? I assume we could use tags somewhat similar to a Supernote.
@skipper634004 күн бұрын
I am very curious how MDO could work as a Notes Template, but I cannot really picture it, since the calendar changes and links have to be modified from week to week, but maybe some pages like the notes and to do could repeat through the template. Also it will lose functionality exporting vs pdf.

Regarding Q2: Since Android couples the OS and the Launcher pretty loosely, there is a middle way: update the OS but keep the Launcher. Going forward they might do only the new Launcher. But maybe not, what about the 7.8" devices from the future? Will they get the new Launcher ever?

Regarding the UI of BOOX devices in one of their videos I think they said that users can choose between Tab UI and Note UI. But I am not entirely sure and can not test it since I have non-updated Tab Ultra C Pro. But I have a question as well. I was cleaning my computer and in appdata I run into synced files from reMarkable deskop app. So immediately I thought about if it is possible to change the PDF file and sync it to the tablet in simalar way as you did in one of your video. Can you please test thi once you have availebel time?

I love your videos but would like to offer a different view on the Tab X portion. The Tab X has a larger battery (6300mAh) than the planned note Max (3700 mAh). A note Max with a small battery and BSR may have poor stamina. Tab X has a Mobius screen which is way more ruggid than the Carta glass like screens and more expensive for that reason (nb Boox have a very poor customer service record with screen cracks ). Tab X isn't as sharp and the contrast is poorer if you look side by side. But for day to day usage it is really not that different. You even made a video on this. A front light is a personnel preference, I live on a planet where the sun disappears for half the day and it gets dark. I have no intention of carrying around a clip on light in this century, the Go 10.3 is terribly reflective with an artificial light source (i had one and returned it for that very reason). Anyhow, keep up the good work, just my opinion. I worry that Boox are falling down a Gimmick rabbit hole at the expense of battery life/usability/ruggedness which is ultimately what determines real world productivity. My Tab X works wherever I take it and for as long as I need it. I hope my next device does as well.

The Quaderno gained recent support for Bluetooth foot pedals, specifically for musicians turning sheet music.

Do you recommend it for pdf reading? I almost bought it but i heard of many screens gett8ng blacks strips which make it unusable after months to year of use.

I do yes. It’s highly underrated imo. It has a very lightweight build though, meaning you can’t treat it roughly.

Regarding the Boox Go 10.3, I wrote to the official support and they told me that the GO 10.3 will definitely receive the 4.0 firmware update.

Well, support also replied to me that the Note Air 1 and Nova Air 1 would receive further updates after last year's. So far they haven't.

Support also told me that BSR doesn't impact battery life much.

if the hardware is capable, they should bring OS4 to NA3C. They should not be expecting NA3C owners to upgrade already only 1 year later. Giving OS4 to 3C owners will be excellent for them and IMO encourages them to stay with boox for the 5C or 6C when its time for them to be ready for upgrading
@5idi4 күн бұрын
They've been updating all their devices for years. I see no reason why they wouldn't. Even if they keep the NA3C with the old skin, they'll still update the functionality. They can add widgets and folders to the "Apps" page and that'd pretty much close the gap.
@justjonoutdoors3 күн бұрын
Give the NA3C users the OPTION of upgrading to OS4.

Well, you can always decide not to update. It doesn't install it automatically.
