I'm the same foot size as you, and have extraordinarily narrow heels / flat feet, and I recently got the Bloch Pro-Elastic and they're absolutely amazing

OK this video is a little old now, but the MDM Intrinsic Reflex is still a very important ballet flat in the dance world. This is actually an Australian company and they are a small business who truly care about your dancer and their feet, shoe fit etc. When looking to purchase online, PLEASE print out and use the MDM Fit Guide as the sizing is quite different. You print it out (NOT SCALED but t 100%) then measure you feet against it, and it will give you a number which you then put into the webpage and it will tell you the size. Having said that, my daughter wears a 7.5MN in a Bloch elastaboot jazz shoe, a 7.5 in most street shoes, and surprise surprise! She is a 7.5 N or M in an MDM. She refuses to wear any other ballet flats. These are like wearing slippers to ballet class she says. They are also excellent for anyone with pronation or other foot problems, due to the internal support.

Amazon UK carries a longish wraparound skirt I think the brand is Hoeven. It's not very expensive either. Hope that's some use. Cheers.

I have the same feet as you and have used Capezio Juliets as well. What's worked is an old pair of Russian Pointe canvas "Andante" slippers in black so I reordered them in pink, narrowest width & lowest vamp and they looked great but the material was thicker and a bit rough. So I recently bought Bodywrappers "Wendy" total stretch and I love material but the vamp is high. My dream shoe, split-sole, narrow, low vamp, , soft canvas, no drawstring, nude is out there somewhere!
@BallerinasByNight9 жыл бұрын
+Lisa B I will have to look into both the Russian and the Bodywrappers shoes! Right there with you on the dream shoe features!!

I saw in another video that you did not like these. Not sure why? Because in this video they follow the lines of your foot like a second skin, with no bunching up under your arch as well.

Have you tried Grishko performance ballet slippers? They seem similar to your Juliet slippers but have a cool elastic feature that would solve your demi pointe issue.
@BallerinasByNight9 жыл бұрын
+Meaghan Richardson I have! The quality is so fantastic. They are not my faves though only because it when I point my foot the tip of the shoe looks kind of pointed instead of rounded at the end. If that makes sense. Just a personal preference thing, but otherwise I love that shoe!

Hi! Thanks so much for this. I'm an older adult who many years ago had a "small-time" ballet career. I have the opposite problem with shoes. My arch is very high and my ankles very loose so I tend to pronate and supinate in my Bloch's. As in...I rock from side to side in them. Now, some of this is due to aging (yes! that's gray hair you see and very little dark blonde left LOL) but I've always had this problem. Do you think this shoe might help? Or, do you have another one that comes to mind? Thank you and so nice to meet you through Katie Morgan's Channel.

hi I'm new in buying my first ballet shoes i mostly wear size 7 in any of my shoes not ballet shoes do you think a size 7 will fit me in ballet shoes or a size 6 ?
@BallerinasByNight8 жыл бұрын
Hi Veronica! I would refer to the size chart for each shoe you're looking into! Every brand varies in its sizing - a lot of shoes you have to order 2-3 sizes down from your street shoe size while other brands it could be the same as street size. Definitely refer to the size chart before ordering!

Hey ! I saw in your blog that you were going to keep working with this shoes to strengthen your feet. I have flat feet as well that is why I am looking to buy this product to get my feet stronger. How do you feel about the shoes now?
@txpacer9 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is a great review. I'm wondering how you feel about the shoes now. Do you feel like there has been a noticeable difference in your overall alignment, your awareness of your overall alignment, feeling your feet in terms of supination or pronation, the amount of rest/relief you get from having the extra support, or foot strength from the sole's resistance? I'm considering buying the reflexive, which can only be purchased from MDM's website, but the price is steep for slippers. I'm wondering if the technology is worth it.

+txpacer Hi! I am putting up a video with my updated review on these this week! But to kind of sum it up quickly for you, they're not my faves. They feel great for standing long periods of time, but for my feet, I felt like the sole was too thick to get my point to look decent! The Reflex ones may be a little better with that give...if you give them a try I'd love to hear your thoughts!

were can you get this online? I've wanted to try them to strengthen my feet. I was thinking to switch between shoes if it can help, but well I'll have to try. What size are you in the juliet? thanks!
@BallerinasByNight8 жыл бұрын
I believe there is a link for the shoes included in the description of the video! I wear a 9.5M in the Juliet's (I'm pretty standard size 9 street shoe).

I had the same problem as you, couldn't find a skirt in my size and desired length. I ordered a wrap skirt from an adult ballerina on Instagram (balletbunwear). Her website is balletbun.com. She sews the skirts herself and had my skirt tailored to my measurements so that it fits perfectly (with no extra charge). Definitely check her out! And you can see photos (+ a video) of the skirt in action on my IG "emerald_turquoise".

hey! i'm beginning my first ballet classes soon (really late to start dancing, i'm twelve) and i've been looking at ballet slippers online. is there any difference between street shoe sizes and ballet slipper sizes? i have fairly small feet, i'm around 5 1/2, but my feet are wide. i would say i have pretty average arches.
@samantha-ue6sy8 жыл бұрын
also, any shoe recommendations??
@BallerinasByNight8 жыл бұрын
+michael clifford Congratulations on starting ballet classes! Most of the time there is a difference between street shoe and ballet slipper sizes so you'll definitely want to check the sizing information for each shoe you're looking at. If this is your first pair of ballet slippers I would recommend getting fitted at a dance store if you have one accessible near you. If not, my suggestion is to order a couple different pairs or sizes online and try them on in front of your teacher so he or she can examine the fits. Make sure to wear tights or thin socks and stand on a clean floor or towel so you don't dirty any shoes you need to return! Let us know how it goes!

+michael clifford I love the So Danca pair talked about in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2SlhqSCm7iIbZo. Grishko makes really nice slippers and the Sansha Pro Canvas is a very popular shoe!
