*TEN STEP SUMMARY* *1. Break everything down* -Write everything down that you have to do -Break down into small chunks -Shift focus from all the things you have to do to what you will accomplish in the next 5 minutes *2. Shift from distraction to focus* -20 minutes of guilt-free time -Turn all technology off -Make coffee/tea, get study space ready -Change your mood (take a shower, walk, listen to music, etc.) -THEN sit down and start studying *3. Quit feeling dreadful* -Focus on accomplishing small actions *4. Take scheduled breaks, not breaks whenever you want* -Don't just take breaks when things get frustrating/hard -Take breaks at scheduled times (e.g. Pomodoro) -Use Self Control app to block websites *5. Study actively, not passively* *6. Change the study location* -Helps get through final hours when you switch up your location (cafe, library, with friends etc.) *7. Take a well-deserved break* -Separate study time from leisure time -Sleep *8. Work around your schedule to end your day early and enjoy late-night study sessions* -Study 8am-12pm, break, then study 1-7pm -Take a 3 hour break, study from 10pm-12am *9. Make it enjoyable* -Favorite drink -Favorite playlist -Leave easier/less intense work (data crunching, email, etc.) for this time at the end of your studying *10. Make studying a habit* -Create systems, so that you start studying from day 1 so you don't stress right before your exams -Continuously moderately study, don't go from 0 studying to 100 studying right before exam

When it comes to getting things done, nothing beats setting up a proper list down to the smallest activities. You'd think it'd do absolutely nothing, considering how it's just a list of stuff you already know you have to do, but seeing everything you have to do in order really helps remind you what you should be doing. I personally don't like setting times for activities that require an unknown amount of time, so I pick a few things I know for a fact have a set time window, and use those as a reference to put activities with an unknown time window in between. If you're a student, plug in things you have to do in between your classes(since classes have a set time window), and of course, also list out really obvious things like your 3 meals, other obligations, and fun activities you do. It sounds pointless, but your schedule should be detailed to yourself.

A few months ago I had a serious addiction to social media, so I just quit using any of those. I deleted IG, FB, TW, and I didn't even want to create a TikTok account. Months later I created a new YT account and only subscribed to these kinds of channels and meditation channels (another new activity I included in my new routine). And I must say this has changed my life!!! So I just came here to tell you guys, YOU CAN DO IT, it is possible. Don't be a slave of social media and take the reins of your life. I loved your tips Jimmy, thank you!

I just kinda wished my Med school wouldn't make us watch 2-hour-long classes(up to 2 or 4 classes per day), it's boring and not helpful, I need more time to study alone without having to sacrifice my normal life for this ;-;

This video got at something that I read somewhere else, which is that procrastination is not about motivation, but rather emotion

I’m a law student currently doing my masters, it’s really intense compared to undergraduate law. I’m so glad to have found your channel because it helps me study for longer hours and try new ways to study effectively especially with the extensive reading. I’m trying to work smarter and not harder, do you have any tips on that?

One of the best channels on the real stuff. So much respect and thanks a lot, sir👍🏻. Unfortunately, other channels either don’t go into detail or just boast about themselves.

Thank you, this was great! Do you have any tips for how to accept the amount of work you've done? I often feel guilty I did't do MORE studying during that day despite knowing I have to take breaks to stay sane. I feel like a slacker when I take a hour and half break for dinner ect. I just never feel like I've gotten ENOUGH done.

Probably the best video I’ve watched for study/productivity! I feel like when I had “productive” study days, I had subconsciously followed these tips. Now that the steps are clear in my mind, I can be more mindful about the way I approach my study. Thanks so much!!
