Can someone do me a solid and explain what the audio dramas are? I finished the live action today and am currently reading the book, so i know its scenes from the book. Im just confused as to what exactly is it since i swear those are the same voices of the actors the live action. So im wondering if they did audios of the book scenes since they couldnt do everything from the books cause of the censorship

the audio drama is quite literally just a voice over of the novel and it came out before the untamed. the live action decided to use the same voices from the audio drama to dub over the actors. i haven't seen the live action version but i think none of the actors used their real voice

@deboraition: These snippets are from the audio drama adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi. It was produced by and broadcasted on MaoEr FM (a Chinese radio station) and already completed in 3 seasons. It is the most faithful adaptation of the novel (in fact, it offers more because it also expands on some scenes that were not deliberated in the novel). As for censorship, for non-visual platforms it is not that strict, so yeah the audio drama managed to include those 'censored' scenes if you are curious (of course much much toned down compared to the novel;most of the time just masked by music and left for listeners' imagination 😆). It is the best adaptation compared to live-action, manhua and donghua; the soundtracks and BGMs are phenomenal, and not to mention the voice actors are top-notch. Now about the voices, it is similar because they are basically the same professional voice actors (VAs) who did the dub for The Untamed or for the donghua (you can Google it up).

@@dennyleveariola8297 If you can understand Chinese you can buy them from MaoEr FM app (it's quite affordable). Unfortunately there is no English subs officially. You can find the fansubbed version from Suibian Subs (the group has completed all 3 seasons+extras, but they only allow distribution via their discord account; you can find the details on the group's Tumblr or Twitter). There's another group that are currently subtitling the drama on KZbin channel Chinese Audio Novels (cr. Nana Being Nana) (they are now halfway through season 2). Other fansubbers just release selected clips, not full ones.

i do not understand are the voice actors xiao zhan and wang yibo too, or the voice actors of the donghua, they all sound the same ... usually actors do not work as voice actors too !
