alright but this is so good?? it’s essentially a song about a real person being behind what we find on youtube, or online ever. that’s just only us seeing what they want us to see. these real people…is it hard for them to build a life? find identity outside of a following? it’s so much stress on a person that the emotional states of so many others rely on you at times. it’s a really interesting take on the perception of an internet figure, *coming* from this person we know on the internet in itself. what do any of us know about winchi outside of what they show us, or what they’re going through? alright that’s my tangent but this song was so banger!!! the visuals are so good too?? it was so engaging

Hghgghhht you're telling me I've been waiting for this songs premiere since you announced it and now I've missed it?! My frustration aside, this is my favorite song of yours so far! Probably because I can relate to it. Especially "I wanna be like the drawings of my laptop screen" and "Who's portrayed by someone real who I can still call "me". I probably shouldn't feel good that someone feels the same way, but it's also reassuring and a reminder that I'm not the only one.

Analysis time because I want to rant about how great this is From lyrics and others' analysises alone you can tell this is about having a fake identity, more specifically a fake ideal online persona. I'll start with lyrics before going in-depth, "I never like to make eye contact Human eyes have such an impact When somebody sees my face I THINK I MIGHT PASS OUT But im a social being Even when you cant perceive me I want to find a way to have an IDENTITY" The first four lyrics describe introversion and a fear of socializing likely the real world scenario but then there's being a social being even when you can't perceive me, being a social self whenever there isn't a true self present but rather a made-up role to fit into that is a social being but that "role" cannot be defined as an identity. "I wanna be like the drawings that live on my laptop screen (You are just like me) So, I made a mask of myself that reflects what I wanna be (I'VE NEVER FELT SO SEEN)" The drawings on the laptop screen are likely popular characters, OCs, personas, stuff like that. I think that since characters are often praised and liked even with dark backstories, in this they are envied and have a want to become them. The mask made that reflects what they want to be is that fake digital persona, likes and ideals portrayed into their character not only ones they have but others aswell. "I'm not myself I'm a figment of my own IMAGINATION I'm my own creation I'm mutated from a dream of who I wanna be I'm made of M E A T But thats not stopping me~!" Starting stages, the digital persona grows from the haver's own wants and ideals, likely stemming from a people pleasing mentality. Being made of meat but that not stopping them being that even though they are real and have a real identity and self, that doesn't stop them from having this digital self. "I feel like a brand new person Now that I've added distortion This prism scatters me into a rainbow of frequencies So Welcome to my broadcast~! Think quick before you scroll past! In 30 seconds can you FALL IN LOVE with me?" Whenever changing into this digital sona as its much more different than the real self, they feel like a new person. Adding distortion and the rainbow frequencies has me confused a bit but I think this means mixing with other people's wants more, socializing, interacting and making public content. With the new shorts it's confirmed that the 30 seconds lyrics are for yt shorts xd "I am a marionette pulled by the strings of the internet (AND WE LOVE IT) Is there a self if I only exist to be in someone's head?" Now, not only are ideals of the real person affecting online persona but so are likes and dislikes of the masses of the internet the "and we love it" probably refers to the online sona which bends to ideals of both. "Is there a self if I only exist to be in someone's head?" Goes back people pleasing mentality and wanting to be noticed and cared for by others but creating a fake identity just for that to happen makes the answer to this question a clear no. "I'm not myself I'm a figment of the world's IMAGINATION I am your creation I'm displayed upon a screen where you can't witness me I'm made of M E A T But thats not what you see." Putting aside aspects already spoken of in previous statements like how this talks of the viewers aswell and how our views also shape this digital personality. Being displayed upon a screen and not witnessing them and not seeing that they're made of meat, this part is seeing and comprehending the digital personality but not the person behind the screen, the fake persona on the screen made to please others and themselves is witnessed but not the real person behind it. Theres this part but I'll look at the changed lyrics "I'm displayed upon a screen Where I can't see myself" Focusing on being this digital self the haver forgets their real self, this is an effect of people pleasing aswell. "Pull your face off Have you forgotten that there is a trade-off? If you want to become a dream just put your self to sleep Forget the person you call "me" " Now the mask becomes the face, being more closer to the real identity, glued. The trade-off for this digital persona is the real self depleting away, to become a dream is to put your SELF to sleep is to become that idealistic and liked digital sona (the dream) and putting your real self to the side, forgetting it and putting it to "sleep". "I'm not myself I'm a figment of my own IMAGINATION I am a creation I'm mutated from a dream of who I wanna be I know that I am NOT MYSELF I'm a figment of the world's imagination~! (Am I even real if I'm a digital me?) Am I trapped within my dreams?" This takes everything into perspective, being made of likes and dislikes of others, letting opinions shape who your online self is and the seperation of reality and digital media and finally making the difference and knowing that this digital self is not themselves and rather an idealised fake person made up of others' wants theirs too. Being a figment of the world's imagination is now having everyone have some ideal of how they perceive you and that is just imagination. "Am I even real if I'm a digital me?" Now having the online sona take up so much of their self it is hard to tell if who they are is their real self of just the self they made from their likes and ideals, from others' opinions and views to simply please them, Also an effect of people pleasing. "Am i trapped within my dreams?", does this online persona have more control, or rather does the mentality of a people pleaser have more control over them than themself? As it is hard to control. "I'm not Winchi He's a figment of my own imagination He's just a creation who's portrayed by someone real Who I can still call "me" I'm made of... meat And that's okay with me." After having explained my interpretation, it's already clear but this is heartwarming. Even though Winchifrost was a role played with the intention to please the viewers that grew to be this entire song's meaning there was still place to grow and heal, to change. I want to say that this is more common than expected, if you really pay attention you'll find people like this everywhere, sadly. I could probably name atleast 17 people like this if I wanted to even but the point is, even if you, winchi or someone else who has gone through this or a similar experience are in pain from this and it has changed you, there's still time to change and to reclaim your true identity, do what you want and live for yourself. Love yourself and be safe out there, my analysis may not be perfect and have spelling mistakes but I'll post it anyway, because I want to and I want to appreciate this song and it's meaning. Vtubers, KZbin personas, and so much more. 0:33 "I want to be like the drawings that live on my laptop screens" or 0:40 "So I made a mask of myself that reflect what I wanna be"...
