The mount is roughly aligned with the adjustment bolts on the two axes. The final alignment is with arrow keys on the hand controller. So final alignment happens with some sort of electronic compensation, even though the mount is not pointing at exactly the right location?

Please redo this tutorial without skipping the so called little steps. There are those of us who need those little steps, since we really are beginners. Thanks!!!

Buenos videos parte 1 y parte 2 de la montura LX 85. (acabo de recibir una) Solo que deberían agregar traducción en Español al menos escrita. Para el hemisferio SUR también. Gracias

At 1:46 that compass does not work. Why? It's resting in a ferrous metal accessory holder and the tripod legs also interfere and prevent the magnetic compass from working properly. 🤔😞
@davevachon92684 жыл бұрын
The compass is useless for this mount, or any mount for that matter!
@sterlingfoley45104 жыл бұрын
Dave it's simple just set the compass on the ground in front of the tripod leg labeled N .that works I do it all the time.

Anyone have a touchy focus knob. Mine will even slide in and out a bit.

You would figure - Meade would at least provide the links here for ascom mount drivers to run PHD guiding, at least On Camera works.

Q, what if by circumstance you cannot see Polaris? Is adjusting the altitude to your local location (in your example 34 degrees) good enough? I live in a dense condo complex, and yes I can take a long drive out of the city, but its easier to view from my balcony, however the north side of the sky is blocked by trees and buildings.

Then you need an Alt Az mount which doesn't require polar alignment. But you will lose tracking accuracy if you want to take long exposure images

There is no way to polar align using the marks on the mount. This is very misleading...just get the arrows close and then use your finder scope??? Nope. You'll never track accurately for astrophotography.

Why couldn't you do videos like this for the LX90 series? Set Up, Alignment. etc...

I want to love this mount but i can't align this scope to save my life. I'm going to have to resell it and maybe get a new one. :(
@davevachon92684 жыл бұрын
Do you have the polar alignment scope? If not, you should get one...if they ever become available.
@adrianortiz32814 жыл бұрын
@@davevachon9268 I actually do. However it's not the best and very difficult to see through since I am a pretty large person. :) Just takes a little getting used to.
