I have heard a lot about this unit and always wanted to buy one just to set the gains and make a video about it...like a how-to. When my buddy Zack, my Fastenal guy, said he was thinking of using one for his new Jeep, i knew that this was the time. Not only to try it out and make a video about it, but to GIVE it to him! This video covers a few things....not just the Audiocontrol LOC, but also how to properly set gains from the front to the back, the beginning of the chain to the end. Don't listen to ANYONE who says you can use a DMM (digital multi meter) because you may as well guess your gain settings if you do. If you don't know where the head-unit distorts or anything else in between that and the amplifier, than nothing else matters. It isn't as much about HOW MUCH power the amp puts out, it is WHEN that matters most. Also, that little thing no DMM fanboy ever talks about. Gain overlaps. Do you know how to use the accubass and tune it with the dd1? I used the dd1 to tune mt whole setup with the lc7i to keep my stock head unit. I left my accubass and the threshold at top center. It’s works with me but idk if it really helps and needs to be tuned also.

Lol I bet that sony head unit has a max volume of 60 which would make the reading for distortion at 45 3/4 of the volume which aligns with the old 3/4 rule. You would be ok going with the old rule of thumb most of the time. Lastly. Why are the magnetic subwoofer terminals so god damn expensive. $150+ is just insane but fuck they are pretty

if you just use the GTO signal sensing from the speakers line in ,you do not need remote in,only out , i have the exact one sounds amazing, i did not want to buy an amplifier for my alpine iLX-W650 /KTA 650,so i used this LC7i to send the signal to the amps thru my aftermarket Head unit, and it still sounds amazing.

Wait, when testing distortion for bass, you had nothing plugged in channel 3. Is there still a signal passing on channel 3 from Channel 2 input??

Yes if you don’t plug anything in on the lc7i on channel 3 it will replicate the signal from channel 2 and channel 3 is the channel that has accu bass so that would be your bass channel it also accounts for bass fade off on factory head units so it can help with supplying a full range signal from your factory head unit and 400 watts max per channel on the lc7i

In three of my cars I have Audiocontrol Three.1 EQ/XOVER.In one of my cars I have the Three.1 combined with an LC8i....clean, clear sound.I set it and never have to touch it, I just mess with the Three.1.Audiocontrol for life!!!

Is it possible that some stock radios just don’t have a clean signal? I worked on a stock radio recently and just couldn’t keep a clean signal at 1/2 volume. I installed LC2I but, was limited on the radio side. If anyone has any feedback it would be really appreciated, thanks.

So from what I gathered from the video. Your guy got that for being decent. More importantly though. All the questions and a majority of the tech talk was covered in this video. The issue seems to arise with people not listening or paying close enough attention. Over lap. Signal voltage. Gains on the amps lc7i and the deck. How to set it in peoper order and the remote signal thing on the 7 when using factory. I don't see the confusion or any technicalities that haven't been addressed in the video. Dd1+ got it going. Idk? Maybe they believe their cousin. I found this video very informative and kind of want to grab a few of your tools. Signs of a good knowledgeable salesman.

Great video . But is this the same tuning process with the audio control if I'm running the lc2i from a factory Bose amp? I'm doing a 2021 Tahoe with Bose system . Just adding some subs using the lc2i to a marts digital amp. I feel like I'm not getting enough bass output . I'm pretty sure I have the lc2i connected to the wrong set of speakers but I don't think that would make to much of a difference ?! I'm running off rear speaker channels which are the full range, the front doors are the lower frequency speakers.. could this be an issue?

I have an Acura MDX. on my LC7i, I put my 3 sources as the tweeter, rear door speakers (I figured that these are more full range), and then the subwoofer channel. It still seems bright and it seems to be lacking in the lowest bass. Would I be better off doing tweeter, front door (Mid range only) and sub so that I can control each of the three better? Also, any tips on the bass. It seems that Acura may roll off the lower bass and the accubass is not quite making up for it.

Hey Steve, don't know if you know it(you probably do), but they send the guitar pick to use to set the gains. Fit perfectly in the slot, and you don't have to use your finger nails.

Just added lc7i to a 19 4runner and voltages are horrible coming out of the AudioControl. Need to find someone local with a meter like you're using. Awesome video, so after you have set the loc gain do you leave the bass knob turned up when you start setting the gain on your sub amp? Jus wanna make sure I do it right.
