I heard this on Doctor Demento over 40 years ago. Just last week someone mentioned meadow muffins and i immediately thought of this song

@@davidspinney2664 I have their “Up the Line” on CHEZ’s 5th anniversary concert album now at my brothers place. It also had 8 Seconds on the full-length LP.

It's actually been recorded and published at least three separate ways. My uncle gave me one, and I found two others. I need to transfer the recordings to digital and upload, including the Valley Express.

I remember this growing up on the NY side of the St. Lawrence. CHEZ 106 was the only decent rock station I could get. And reception sucked....

@@craigrichardson5744 i was at clarkson college in potsdam NY 77-79 and chez 106 came in ok there in my dorm. delmer visits on the morning show were so funny & weird. i was from far enough south (NY finger lakes) to not know the quirks of canadian accents& culture till living up there in the north country. meadow muffin perhaps performed live in some of those sessions. recall the patter on radio with morning host. delmer having presented him with a meadow muffin. ( yeah, sure) but as the song gathered renown, even on US side, delmer made an appearance at the Potsdam Depot- sandstone train station turned restaurant /bar. naturally meadow muffin being the high point of the set.
