I've always had this question about the show how come Pauly get pissed off at Christopher when he beats up Little Pauly but didn't do or say anything at all when Gene did it?? I know it's two different kinds of beatings with what Christopher did as compared to what Gene did but he still put his hands on Pauly's nephew and beat him up pretty bad!! Christopher's beating got him partially crippled for awhile while Gene messed up is eye getting glass in it

Meadow's experiences working in the South Bronx Law Center gave her evidence she needed to belief that the US federal govt was criminal in how it pursued crime. The family at the center complaining that the son was arrested for no reason and they hadn't heard anything as to why? Before that she was already highly suspect about the American system through her education, that only confirmed it. Remember, the same exact organization that arrested the Afghan teen was the one constantly trying to her father, the same one her father had told her all her life was corrupt and persecuting them because they were Italian. Besides all that, Meadow is deep in denial. If Meadow excepts the worst about her father's career she has to accept the worst about him as a person, which means he was involved in Jackie's death, that all the worst fears of Finn were true, etc. She'd rather not belief that, and she doesn't have to believe it either, because if the federal govt are simply persecuting them because they're ethnic minorities then Tony is part of the victim class and isn't an oppressor. Win win for Meadow.

Meadow Soprano was the ultimate Mary Sue. She did great high school, did all sorts of extra curricular activities such as singing and soccer that she she of course was great at, went to university and took pre-med AND pre-law classes (dafuq) AND had time to party, do drugs and fool around with boys (Noah, Jackie Jr., Finn and Patrick) as well as intern at a law firm on her 'spare time'. But The Sopranos is no fairytale." 4:07 body language me boy. Those smiles they both have; the way she krinkles her nose and squints her eyes and that obvious curl at the corner of Noah's mouth when he too was smiling and the look in his eyes... They definitely made the hoagie with two buns (well, technically four buns. I'm not a doctor, get off my back). Also, him using his daddy to put a restraining order on her is wicked smart because you definitely don't want her around you after hooking up, especially when you're dating her roommate, and even after he splits with Meadow, Kaitlyn is just way too clingy, and for a two-timing poos hound like Noah, that's bad for business. I honestly hate the kid, but dammit I gotta respect game.

I'll always remember Meadow complaining to the teacher that she wanted a solo even though she'd had them before and the teacher wanted to highlight some of the younger students who'd never had any. There was a slightly whiny threatening tone to her complaint and I knew that was Carmela and Tony shining through.

Without watching this video, I wanna give my thoughts on Meadow. I think she is someone who is well intended but is never aware of her position of privilege and how that’s gotten her far in life. A good example is when Carmela leaves Tony and she berates her mom for not wanting to be independent and her own woman. She then compares her mom to herself and how she’s in NYC doing her own thing. She fails to realize that everything she has is bcuz of her dads criminal life and she lives in NYC bcuz of her parents. They pay for her school, her car, her apartment, etc. And she’s ignorant to that and thinks that she is actually independent. I remember seeing that scene and thinking to myself “stfu😂”. Also in the end, she decides she wants to be a lawyer and tells her dad that she was inspired by seeing the harassment that her and her Italian family experienced by the hands of the police and fbi. Again failing to realize that her father and her family were the real criminals and bullies and fails to understand why the feds and the police are treating her family like that. She is aware that her father is a mob boss but choosing to be ignorant to it and just focus on the rough attitude from the feds. Then she compares it to how minorities are being treated by police- but it can’t be farther from that. Her father was a rich mob boss- he extorted, murdered, abused, harassed and bullied innocent ppl. Directly and indirectly caused the deaths of dozens. He is not a victim, yet she chooses to see things that way to shield herself from the truth that’s right in front of her

now granted you might not go full bitch mode like AJ, but you gotta admit, if you were 15 years old and were in your backyard, at night, and you instantly encountered a 400-500 pound American black bear standing less than ten feet from you, at the very least, you'd squeak out a quick but broken "...help..."

Exactly. It’s not even like he’s a pussy for calling out for his mom, it’s just the way he does it. The nuance to the scene is what makes him so hateable. I would absolutely call for my dad or mom if I was outside and saw a bear, if I couldn’t get inside. Don’t want to deal with it by myself if it attacks, but the way he did it is just such a bitch move

Yea if you look at their characters thry are very much a product of their upbringing. Meadow ends up a duplicitous liar and manipulator just like Tony and really compartmentalizes her father's mob activities like Carmela. AJ is constantly berated and shit on by his parents for never reaching the academic success of his sister and constantly being parented in a hypocritical style (Tony berates him for being spoiled while also continuing to buy him nice things)
