This episode helped me so much! Y’all’s vulnerability hits home. I’m a lot like Raven in the regard of recovering from people pleasing, and narcissistic parenting. It took me a long time to use my voice and recover, I used to explode on people because my communication was on the avoidant side. Now I have no problem saying no, It’s taken me a lot of research to understand what was happening. Long story short.. the honesty and advice you all share helps people so much. My husband is a lot like Miranda in the regard of teaching me how to say no (he’s very assertive) and I attracted him because we both taught each other with what we need. I love y’all ❤️
@missl.a.80323 ай бұрын
Same here! I spent most of my life being a people pleaser. I hated confrontation and thought that if I followed the rules and did what I was told everything in life would go smoothly so I just kept quiet and did what I was told well into my late 30s. I looked up one day and I was 40 and realized that all of those people that I spent my life pleasing were nowhere to be found nor did they care. It's a big regret that I still carry. I've learned that you have to live your life for you otherwise you'll spend the rest of your years unhappy while others are happy.

No.... is a complete sentence. That hit different.... bc i have always been a "Yes" person, then one day I said NO... the look on their faces, it was as if I said curse word, the way the air left the room, I should've said it, hell maybe a few words or two bc of the backlash I received... the how dare you speech, the nerve of you speech.... but bih I can't even front, that shyt felt so good to say NO.... Carrying the weight of saying Yes, can lead you into a life of bondage, not standing up for yourself, not having a voice... Stand UP and Free yourself in saying NO.. Say no to their way, their thoughts, their wants, their choices and choose you, bc saying No doesn't mean they dont matter but what it does mean that you're choosing YOU. Choosing you is Self care and Self care is saying NO...... You can't Love Others until You Love You First!!!

You guys should create a sitcom or movie with everyone who doesn’t apply no foundation at all. Have a movie where everyone who is acting is allllll natural.
