We are approximately 125 miles away from the state park. We visited the Alabama Battleship and enjoyed our tour of the Submarine. It's great that they offer senior discounts! Your video is excellent, Bill!

That battleship would be the USS Alabama. You should take the tour. They have quite the aviation museum as well Bill. Well worth the trip if you enjoy those things. (Which I do too, lol)

You might want to check out the Gulf state park campground in gulf shores Al. They have miles of bike\walking trails

The site numbers are on the power poles, not on the ground. This is confusing because the numbers are different.

Next to the USS Alabama they have a submarine that you can tour, the USS Drum. The submarine is not a tour for anyone who is claustrophobic, is very tight quarters. Also, the stairs in and out are steep, you have to watch your head even if you are not tall in parts of the submarine. Everything is metal so if you bump your head or knees, it hurts. lol. The submarine will make a cargo trailer conversion feel spacious.

Less than an hour from us. Good eating there on the causeway! The USS Alabama is definitely worth the tour. Did you hike the boardwalk area out over the bay?

In the past it’s been a lot cheaper booking by the Month but it’s creeping up. We’ve stayed a month the last 2 winters.
