I a so happy to see you peeling your potatoes with a knife!! I have taken so much flack from my mother in law and sister in law because. I peel my potatoes with a knife rather than a peeler. As you do, I can peel a potato with a knife with very little waste. I feel validated!!

The meals look delicious! I never heard of running cold water first , I always poured the boiling water down because I figured it would melt any grease that’s building up and keep the drain open , my Mom did too .

Hi! I always stock my freezer with meat from Doughty Valley Meats. It’s close to Charm Countryview Inn where I stay when I’m visiting Holmes County. Doughty Valley Meats is payment by check or cash, no credit cards. I also go to Fred’s Farm for meat. I too made poor man’s steak this week but had green beans instead of corn. I love it!

Quite a different type of video that you often share, but I enjoyed it quite a lot! I have to admit that I am often found surprised about your menu items (for many Amish/Mennonite/other sects) as I guess I always thought everything would be only using "healthy" or organic items, or whatever, yet it's not what I see in the recipes. Not being critical, just interesting for me to learn about! I also love your ability to create and inspire, and I appreciate your channel a lot!

I would like to meal plan but it’s difficult for me, and especially because my extremely picky husband WILL NOT eat ANY vegetables and I can’t put onions or anything in any meals I make, so often I have to cook the things I like separately.
