thank you for addressing the ethics of quinoa 🧡 i see so many ethical youtubers using quinoa and never talking about this & it makes me super wary of them

Could you elaborate a bit please? I have no idea what the ethical issues with quinoa are!
@rosemarybruce62906 жыл бұрын
caramelushca idk the exacts, but in south america, workers are exploited thanks to the rising popularity of quinoa in the west. it’s pretty much like chocolate and tea, if you can get fair trade get fair trade!

I think you did a great job at showing how you can adapt these for what you have or like. Some people get really bogged down with the 'recipe' that they'll dismiss an idea because they don't like one ingredient - or buy extra food because they have a squash but the recipe calls for pumpkin ;) Great Job! =)

Living in Canada, my mom is the only person I have ever known who eats baked beans on toast (her family moved here from England just before she was born). She has never been someone who cooks, so she always bought the canned stuff and I thought it was disgusting. But homemade like this looks amazing. I can't believe I ate the canned version when this is how it should be.

You can also rinse your onion or put it in a cold water bath and that will take out some of the pungent taste as well. It just mellows them out a bit

Are your saucepans enamel? They look pretty heavy and I love these but they can be pricey. Is it v different cooking with this versus a say aluminium saucepan? Dyu use both? Just wondering your thoughts as I need to buy a kitchen starter kit. I know say clay containers impart a totally diff flavour to the food. And copper pans?? Where to buy all your lovely metal containers and that heavy saucepan as cheap and sustainable as poss in UK? sorry thats a lotta questions..youre so inspiring and im so excited to begin this journey!!

Great recipes! :) Do you squeeze the red onion after it has had a chance to marinate with the lemon juice or just add it as is? Also, loved how you used 3 different words to describe the same thing: "beans, legumes and pulses". We get it, you love beans :))

We don't really eat beans for breakfast in Canada. It would be nice if I added them to the breakfast menu. Our baked beans are basically like candy here. We have maple beans and beans in molasses. There is an import store near by me that sells stuff from the UK. I have been meaning to try some of the beans there.

ingewi A pumpkin is a type of squash, like how a strawberry is a type of berry. In this video, she used butternut squash because she didn't have any pumpkin. Zucchini is also a type of squash. Hope that helps!
