3:24 Would not recommend putting eggs back into the container they came in after boiling them. I know first hand health inspectors frown on this and in most cases will not allow it. Possible cross contamination (salmonella). Just throwing it out there. Your experience may vary. **13 years food service industry**
@missrowanoak9 жыл бұрын
+ChrisGoesOutdoors I think that's solid advice. Yes, you will peel the egg but why chance getting whatever is in the container on the shell, then your hand, then the egg. I'm not sure about this guy as a "chef" for that reason alone!

It may very well BE her tip, but he acted as if it were a really GOOD tip and not one that would lead to salmonella contamination which he should have pointed out.
@1984kron8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Sgroia cross-contamination dosent really matter when the food is cooked. Its cross-contamination from raw meat to food that is not to be cooked you need to be worried about. Like from chicken to salad.

U GUYS R WONDERFUL!!!! IVE BEEN LOOKING TO LEARN HOW TO MEAL PREP FOR SO LONG AND NO ONE IS SO PRECISE LIKE U DO IT. LUV THE CONVENIENCE IN HOW U PREPARED ALL THESE DELICIOUS HEALTHY MEALS IN AN HOUR. IM A MOM OF FIVE AND FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO COOK TWO MEALS EVERYNIGHT FOR DINNER. IM TRYING SO HARD TO HAVE ALL MY FAMILY JUMP ON THIS WAGON WHICH HAS BEEN VERY CHALLENGING. BEING THAT I NEVER LIVED A HEALTHY LIFE AND NEVER REALLY SHOWED MY KIDS TO SO I FEEL SO BAD ABOUT ALL THE GOOD THINGS THERE ARE IN HEALTHY CLEAN EATING, AND FOR THAT I TRULY APPRECIATE THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS. I COME FROM AN ETHNIC BACKROUND SO WE WERE RAISED ON EATING WHATEVER MY PARENTS COULD AFFORD, PLEASE DONT MISUNDERSTAND ME, IM IN NO WAY SAYING TH AT IT WAS BECAUSE OF MY ETHNICITY, ITS ACTUALLY ALOT OF OLD TRADITIONAL THINKING LIKE EAT ALL UR POTATOES AND UR RICE AND BEANS, LOL JUST AN EXAMPLE, IF U RESEARCH STATISTICS THE HISPANIC LATIN CULTURE HAS BEEN KNOW FOR HAVING ILLNESS LIKE DIABETES AND HI BLOOD PRESSURE AND OBESITY. I AM IN NO WAY TRYN TO STEREOTYPE. I AM SPEAKING ONLY OF MY SELF AND FAMILY, NOT LINKING ALL HISPANICS OR LATINOS. Looking forward to the next video!

I just want to clarify for everyone that you can't cross contaminate between proteins, i.e. chicken, beef, fish. You can use the same cutting board for all of these items without using plastic wrap or cleaning the board in between. Cross contamination occurs when you cut your proteins on a cutting board and then use that same board to cut your fruit/vegetables without cleaning. Why? Because, the fruit/vegetables won't be cooked. It is impossible to cross contaminate items that will all be cooked thoroughly. Unfortunately, he wasted time and money placing plastic wrap down when it wasn't needed. Furthermore, if you have plastic wrap down on the cutting board, how do you not slice holes in the plastic wrap while cutting the protein? Every hole you slice in the plastic wrap while cutting protein, allows bacteria to seep through. My advice, don't wrap your cutting board in plastic wrap. Just wash your board in between cutting proteins and fruit/vegetables.
@HEMDWellness8 жыл бұрын
Yes you can cross contaminate that way. Chicken must be cooked at 165 because of the dangerous bacteria that poultry has compared to beef or Fish . If you cut them all on the same but only cook your beef to 145 then whatever juices that came from the chicken unto your beef.... Is still hazardous
@Iheart2cook8 жыл бұрын
Hosea DeMarzino If you're cooking them all till their own recommended internal temperature so they are no longer dangerous, you cannot cross contaminate.

This was perfect for learning easy food prep, just a note, many ppl don't like quinoa bcs they find it bitter. That bitter taste sits on the outside of the grain, rinsing your quinoa, well, before cooking and adding cooking liquid to your pot, will prevent that bitter astringent taste. I agree with some of the cross contamination and egg carton being a no-no comments, as a professionally trained chef with 20+ years experience, there are things that just are not done for hygiene and safety standards.

I really enjoyed this. My only question is about cooking all of the protein on one pan. I honestly don't know the reason why, I'm assuming cross-contamination.. but I was always taught the proteins should be cooked separately. So I guess my question is -- if you were worried about cross-contamination when it came to prepping, why were they able to be cooked together on the same pan?
@UberLyftNick8 жыл бұрын
When they are all cooked to temp, the risk for cross-contamination is non-existent.

I have a questions or two, I wanted to get a cross calculation and ask a few questions no one even qualified it seems can give me a straight answer on... My caloric deficit intake in 1518 as i am 175 cm tall and weigh 80 kg with a waist of 104 cm ... I'm doing 4 meals a day... The protein components of the meals are chick, beef, mince with my protein being 45% the Carb 35% and Fat 25 %. I'm making beef patties with the mince... Would i calculate as such to get the amount in grams of 1 patty. Is it possible to put in a food to my fitness pall and get the macro break down? 1518 (daily intake) divided by 4 (Meals a day) = 379.5 (Calories per meal) divided by 100 x 45 (percent) = 170.77 (Calories) Divided by 4 (Calories per gram of protein) = 42.6 grams for 1 patty? My friend whom is a competitive bodybuilder thinks i'm not eating enough and thinks i should be having 2500 calories a day because my body isn't used to cutting at that low level and the body can only survive on a minimum of 1200 and it will give me some where to go... but i feel that is above even my maintenance according to my calculations but he is a competitive body builder, either way i don't want to waste my time. I'm also taking a whey protein although i haven't been measuring it just doing a scoop. How much of this should i have? What are your thoughts on all this?
@TerradudeV28 жыл бұрын
I honestly wouldn't be eating at a deficit at your weight. 80kg isn't particularly heavy, you might be a bit chubby, but as a male, eating only 1500 kcal/day is gonna make lifting heavy really difficult. With regard to your beef patty question, depends on the fat content of the meat. 96% lean beef will have a different macro ratio than 80% lean. Find out what kind of beef you're eating, then yes, you can look it up on MyFitnessPal and get an estimate. Look at the macros for a 4oz/100g portion and figure it out from there. Whey protein is a supplement. As in, it SUPPLEMENTs your diet. If you're getting enough protein from your diet, don't worry about whey, especially as a beginner. If you're not getting enough protein, then supplement whey until you are.

@ChristaBeery9 жыл бұрын
+george cox You can microwave them, or you can put them in a different container to heat in a toaster oven or regular oven. Microwave would probably be a minute or two (I'd put a moist paper towel or clean dish cloth on top to keep everything from drying out).
