This is a true SHTF luxury. You can use this soup base for hundreds of recipes and additions. One pot complete meals out of one jar. What more can a person want.
Cream Soup for 7 pints - Each pint is 4 cups of soup
2 cups Milk Powder
1 ½ cup Corn Starch
½ cup chicken bouillon (Dry)
4 Tablespoons of degydrated onion
2 teaspoons Basil
2 Teaspoons Sage or thyme (Not both)
1 Teaspoon black pepper
Mix this all up real good.
Put 2/3 cup mixture in a pint jar
Add any kind of veggies to this except dehydrated peas
Add 2 pints of water
Cook on low
Enjoy!

made lots of these for friends and the broccoli and cauliflower I added a tbsp of cheddar cheese powder. made a couple veg. ones with beef bullion and they were also a hit. can't find freeze dried meats so all my meals in jars are meatless but you can add meat when you cook them up. My mother liked the potatoe soup the best but she said all I sent her were wonderful. Nice gift for old folks here in the winter when it is cold and they can't get out to the stores.

Thanks for this recipe and what you can do with it. My mother lives in Florida for 6 months so I sent her a lot of the different varieties and I just got a call from her today and she loves them. Living alone she does not always want to cook a meal so the soups are great for her. Her favourite is the potatoe one but the beef mix I made she loves the dehydrated veg in it because they still have a bite when cooked. thanks it is a way I can make sure she eats well. She is 82 and by herself.

Now, that's so much better than giving our money to a corporate food company like Campbell's Soup! Besides which, there's none of the garbage in it! I'm going to do this and make some with dehydrated mixed vegetables...perfect for chicken pot pie, creamed chicken on biscuits, etc. We have found that a little cup, of soup 30 minutes before dinner, really takes the edge off our hunger and keeps us from eating so much at the dinner table. These will be perfect that. Thank you, Deb.

Insider's track. I'm LDS and have been doing this for years. But even at that, I've learned a LOT from your videos! I would never have thought to put stuff in cans and seal them so I have individual meals right at my fingertips. My dd is expecting in Nov and has a 15 month old boy. These things will be a great help to her when the baby comes.

I watched this once before and it just popped up on the side when watching another vid - perfect timing as I recently was trying to figure out how to substitute some dry ingredients for a canned cream of chicken soup to go into a casserole recipe. Now I have the basic idea down - any cream of "blank" works with these ingredients. Thanks for helping me take your meal in a jar to a new use!

Making chicken and dumplings for dinner and had no cream of anything in the cupboard. Pulled out some food storage and made this, it is DELICIOUS! SO much better than anything in a can and took me no time to make! I don't have any oxygen absorbers right now so I put the base mix into a quart jar and put it in the cupboard to use , than you so much for sharing this!

I have a grain mill and grind white beans to flour. Then use the white beans to make "cream" soups. No dairy involved. I add in chicken bullion and water. Tastes just like cream of chicken soup! If you want milk in it, you can whirl instant milk in a blender and measure it the same/use the same, as non-instant. Might have a slight taste difference, but that is most noticeable in milk being consumed as a glass of plain milk.

Love your videos and your no-nonsense manner! This recipe is great to use now as well to substitute for canned cream of [whatever] soup called for in recipes. i made this the other day. I made my jars with potato slices......and then thought....what else could i add. So i found my jar of instant rice and then some instant navy beans and some dehydrated shredded carrot for colour. I sealed the jar and then thought....you know.....some dehydrated green onions would be good also. So i opened my sealed jars and added in some onions. I cooked up a jar and was very pleased with the results. It is my first time to make "meals in a jar". thanks for all the time you take and making these videos.....they are great.

That helps. I had seen while browsing some months back a site that offered the 2 different kinds, wasn't LDS, and didn't write it down. They described some differences and that one was better for baking. At the time I did not think to get that kind as I have been making mostly protein bars with the generic "instant" powder (as a binder). Thanks for the help, it's jogged my memory some! P.S. I must remember to write down all these wonderful ideas you have! You should write a cookbook!
